Majestic and graceful ok.

They're nice to fly on in the context of coach. I'm very much of the opinion that when you fly economy/coach, there's very little total difference in service/quality between planes of different sizes within the same airline (e.g. an Air France A380 vs 787 vs A320), so the little differences matter more proportionally speaking.
I haven't been on an A350 yet. Anyone been on both a 787 and A350? How do the compare experience wise?
Fucking 4chan with the 4mb limit, had to lower res to be able to upload
>>1040099
but airlines tend to fit narrower seats into 787...
>>1040252
That's only a problem if you're a fatty
>>1040014
>9 seats squeezed in an airplane designed for 8 seats abreast
no thanks
>>1040099
787 has larger windows but that electronic dimming is bullshit
a350 just feels like an a380 lower deck

Or you have shoulders.

They have swept tips...
i really do love Boeing and Airbus, even though i hope to fly a Boeing one day.
i see 787's multiple times a day taking off and landing, the 787 wingflex is really amazing. its a truly beautiful plane.
the A350 on the other hand is of course a lot bigger, and goddamn it looks GOOD from the front.
today i had one flying above me while on final, really a BEAUTIFUL plane.
i personally would rather fly a 787, personal preference. but the A350 is a glorious plane.

Jelly desu
>tfw work on the A350 but my local airport only has 20-year-old Bombardiers and Embraers
>tfw A350 manufacturing is on the other side of the planet from me
>>1041252
what do you do? maintanance?
do you have any maintanance pics for us?
>>1041254
Sorry senpai, I do stress analysis
I could post FEM plots, but I'd like to keep my job
>>1041255
you work at Airbus?
one of my instructors works at airbus as well, he was one of the engineers constructing the A350
>>1041260
No kidding? Next time you see him, say the Wichita A350 team says hi. I'm guessing you're in UK/Europe?
>>1041261
yes im in europe, but Germany!
he was my instructor in Airframe Systems
>>1041263
Cool! Much respect to those guys, especially in dealing with the production ramp up this past year.
>>1041266
he told us that the communication between the different teams often suck, which leads to two different solutions being thought up for the same (or the literally mirrored, i.e. emergency exits) problems. then he told us a little bit about how the parts are being produced in so many different countries for sometimes the sole reason of "being a international company" etc.
>But thats how it is, thats just Airbus being Airbus.
hes very happy with his job and i can see why, imo he was one of our best instructors
>>1041267
Definitely 100% true. It's a good system when everything goes according to plan, e.g. "here's the general idea for the part, here are the loads it has to take, design it and send us the drawings", but unfortunately, things don't go that smoothly. For example, a subcontractor in Scotland might be given some certification work, they work on it but they get too busy, so they outsource some of it to India, and then they work on it but then get too busy, and finally finds it's way back to Airbus, with the deadline only weeks away.
Still, there are some benefits to having engineering groups around the world. A lot of my coworkers here in the US are coming straight from Boeing, Cessna, Beechcraft, etc., and that definitely shapes the way we work. I'm sure the same goes for all the European countries, too.
Tl;dr the job is dope. IMO every aerospace engineer should work for Airbus and/or Boeing at least for a couple years.

Always good to see people from wichita on 4chan

Helps to only be carrying 15,000 lbs of fuel.
