They need to pick a fucking standard size instead of jumping between trends and memes. 26" was fucking fine on all the mountain and cruiser bikes I ever owned. When I got my first 29ers (both MTB and cruiser) I was just like "okay". I have never rode a 27.5" bike and don't really want to. It's another invented size. At least 29" matches road bike wheels. To make things worse, 27.5" gets fairly often confused with the 27" old road bike size (I still have a Schwinn in this size).

Do bikes with larger wheels go faster than ones with small wheels? Yes; provided the wheels are turning at the same RPM. You have to put proportionately more effort into turning a big wheel but it will go faster if you can keep it spinning at the same rate as a small one.

I have 650b XC wheels w/ not very aggro 2.1 tires. I can roll over stuff easier than on 26 but thats the only difference I notice. I hate the plus trend b/c they are heavy and slow. I rode 1.95s forever and now its hard to find anything under 2.2.

Basically only department store bikes have 1.95 tires on 26" wheels. They haven't changed anything. I ride two 29" bikes and don't really care about them. They do go over bumps easier, but it doesn't really matter. I use a 20" folding bike off road all the time.

I have the 29" Genesis one and like it. There's no real reason for 29" on a cruiser, but my mountain bike was, so I got a bike with a compatible size. 32 inches is crazy though. At least if wal-mart does it and makes it uncool, they care the mainstream mountain bike manufacturers from trying it.

Also as a beach cruiser type design with coaster brake it might work. Coaster brakes are cheap and work well on heavier bikes (such as the fat bikes they sell at Walmart). On a mountain bike, maybe not.

I just don't get it. What was wrong with 26"? My 26" department store aluminum MTB served me for many years. When I finally got a new one in 2015, I found that decent bikes were mostly 29" or 27.5". Then I got a 29" cruiser because I wanted the tires to be interchangeable.

My 26" was fine, and all my bikes were 26" since at the time I only rode MTB and cruiser bikes. We don't need three different sizes. They tried to push 29", and it didn't fit short riders so they went to 27.5" instead of letting 29" become a dying fad. It's not like America switching over to 700c for road bikes back in the 80s. 700c was the world standard and that was a good change to make. I would rather go 29" than 27.5" since there is at least some overlap with road bikes and I can put hybrid tires on my MTB without ordering them online.

No surprises there. In my experience most LBS's hire someone like the owners nephew hwo doesn't know or give a shit about bikes. All they can really tell you is what the bikes cost and do they have suspensions or not.

I had this one time when I pointed the sales person behind the counter to the box that had separate presta valves for a tubeless setup. He didn't know what they were or if they even had them. I had gotten them from there before and had a rough idea where they were located on the shelf behind the counter.

I ride in all weather dude. I can't manually control the weather to rain more often to impress you. I live in Ohio, ride daily, and get plenty of rain. When it is rainy I can notice a difference between rim and disc brakes. Otherwise, not. It's that simple.

If you mean tubes, yes you can, 622 and 630 use the same tubes. If you mean tires, you should be able to find 630, but not many options because it is deprecated. However, in the past century there has been ONE change in road wheel/tire diameter, from 630 to 622. (and one change in width, going from 21 to 23; 25 is a meme and all 25ers should be gassed) With mountain bikes, the industry keeps pushing new shit-tier memes like 29", 650b, dropper posts, 1x, etc. (I acknowledge 1x is great for dh and enduro, but it shouldn't be pushed on xc).
