They look a lot like some of the trains Norrtåg uses up in north sweden. Runs at around 190km/h, must be careful with the coffee in steep curves otherwise they are ok.

My favourite train is the X2000 tilting train, can stand up and drink coffe at 200km/h without worrying, my favorite train of the ones i have tried.

too bad i suck at painting or i would outline the funny face that train has going on

Also. the only train running in Denmark that has a cool name.

I mean. x2000. wauw. Space!

S Stock. They are great trains, the warm led lighting is nice. Only downside is annoyingly loud door chime.

Our new rear cab-cars. These cars are likely to be the last we ever buy of the Bi-Level rolling stock since GO is getting ready to convert its lines to electric and switch to EMU's.
>>
>>1034543
Just replace the diesel engine with an electric locomotive, seems really wasteful to throw out all those coaches to buy new EMUs.

I would assume that change over won't be immediate so I believe that we will do that and get the remaining years out of the cars and the change over to the newer stock as old units are scraped. Most graphics show pic related as the new stock though this could just be concept and the exact vehicles will be different.

Either way I would wager the guess that since the Stouville and Kitchener lines are set to be the first to be electrified (courtesy of the UPX and SmartTrack) Metrolinx will shift some of the older rolling stock over to those lines during the conversion.

The AMT might buy your rolling stock if you're selling it down the road, we're a couple of hundred million dollars away from the trackage and signal upgrades necessary for some serious service upgrades that are needed. also missing the necessary rolling stock.

Montreal.
>>
>>1034607
I love our CLRVs, but you have to admit they should only be on less popular lines or ones that can't have big stations like Dundas. The extra capacity is really needed, if you take the Spadina line you see if it was a CLRV or ALRV it would often be packed totally full.
>>
>>1034615
If that's the case I have a question, why the rubber tires? And do they make the ride smoother?

This is now a Bombardier Talent thread.

Pic related German class 644 diesel-electric Talent, built 1999ff. in 63 three car units, used on non-electrified lines around Cologne until Dec'13. Most of them have been temporarily retired since they got replaced with ALSTOM LINT 54 and LINT 81 DMUs.

They are now all over the place. Some of them are still used in Cologne on a smaller secondary line, some are now in a surrogate service from Dortmund/Hagen on the Sauerland line since PESA isn't able to deliver the ordered LINK DMUs for these lines, some have been passed on to south Germany/Baden-Würtemberg after an extensive refurbishment and some are still waiting for better days and to be put back into service.

On the topic of Bombardier Subway trains here are the TR's here in Toronto. Interesting fact here is that these are our first trains fully designed and manufactured by Bombardier. While Bombardier did make the T1 fleet, the actual designs were just an update of the H-Series made by Hawker-Siddley. I also believe there is a chance that the TR's will also be the last subway fleet built by Bombardier for Toronto.

They make things that look aesthetically pleasing but are a bit shit on the inside. Turbostars and Electrostars are pretty much that in a nutshell, they're nice to look at bit a bit crap to ride.

I saw a 387 in GWR livery go through Gatwick on test earlier, personally I quite like the Electrostars.
>>
>>1035519

I like it and the livery on them. Electrostars are probably the best looking smaller EMUs since the Class 321. But the Turbostars are a classic in how to make a good, simple but sharp looking DMU in the post-BR era.

The ET2010 is a tram-train vehicle by Bombardier, 30 of them were ordered in 2009 to add to the existing 121 dual-voltage trains on Karlsruhes tram-train network.

After Bombardier's plant was flooded, it took 3 years from order to delivery.
Then, the brakes were too weak and the doors took too long to open and close, it took another two years after delivery to get the necessary certifications for both tram and train service.

Too bridge the gap left by the missing new trains, they also rented tram-trains from Saarbrücken (also build by Bombardier in the year 2000) and Regioshuttle DMUs.

Often imagined a tramtrain for my region.

There is already a railway connecting the cities and villages but the railway stations are too far away from city centres and there is a village that isn't connected to railway and would benefit very much of it with the waterpark visitors on summer and job commuters to Helsinki.

Also would reduce cars from roads and make the motorway have more room for the truckers going up north.

Too bad that the cities and municipalities don't even want to propose a solid bus network. Fucking Centre Party lobbying anything related to urbanisation.

CTA 5000 series built between 2009-2015. Exterior wise it looks the same as the 3200 series that finished delivery in 1994, but there's a lot of differences with AC propulsion being the top since the rest of the CTA fleet uses DC propulsion.

Unless CSR Sifang America skips out on compatibility for its future 7000 series for the CTA, the 5000s can only be mechanically coupled to the remaining DC fleet.
>>
>>1039144
>CSR Sifang

Man even among the chink companies, they chose the worse ones
>>
>>1039323
Mayor had a hardon for China for various reasons. Bombardier tried to protest the contract but it was denied. Upside is they're going to build the railcars in Chicago.

Hilariously enough, Bombardier used Sifang to produce what were bad castings for the 5000 series. Sifang was pulled from it and castings were sourced from Germany and another Chinese plant.
>>
I'm still mad over the "wagons too wide to enter train stations" thing that costed millions of my tax money.
>>
>>1039323
Sifang is one of the better CRRC subsidiary actually, alongside the likes of Zhuzhou

In fact, anyone that came from CSR company (before they merged with CNR to form CRRC) produced comparatively better trains compared to those who came from CNR.

Dalian (and other shitters from CNR companies) are the worst

Bombardier Talent is the most comfy train. Driving it in Aachen every day to uni and work.
The Alstom Lint is alright, have been riding it from Cologne to Meinerzhagen some times, I strongly dislike the seat layout though. Can't find any pictures about it, but man, I have seen it and there are SO MANY SEATS in there.

Pic related: Old line went from Heerlen (NL) directly through Aachen (DE) and to Düren (DE).
