so Scotty was wearing a helmet when he when over the bars? From what I read this was his front tire stopping short on the flat.
>>1033380
Yeah, Scotty always wears a fullface. He cares more about safety than most BMX faggot kids. He's a pretty cool guy.
>>1032971
Look, kid. I don't know who you are or what kind of riding you do, but I'm not one to back away from a challenge -- or from danger. You see those professional freeriders hucking backies off 30 foot cliffs on gravity rigs? Yeah, I'm one of those guys. Or the guys riding 100kph in a peloton only centimeters away from other riders, where the slightest mishap would send them flying onto the pavement -- or worse, off the cliff that the road is running alongside? Yeah, I'm one of those guys too. I'm a 3-time downhill world champion and a 5-time Tour De France winner. I also have the 3rd lowest time ever recorded in the Race Across America, the most difficult endurance sport event in world history. Then you little BMX punk kids and fixie hipster faggots come and tell me that I am afraid to take risks? No, fuck that and fuck you. I'm not afraid to take risks, I'm just not an idiot. I'm all for adventure and risk, but there is literally no reason to ride without a helmet or without brakes, ever, under any circumstances (aside from riding brakeless in a velodrome). I hope you get run over by a death cage and die, kiddo.

damn look at all that blooood
wearing a helmet while riding a bicycle is like using rope while rock climbing: only done by amateurs and pussies
bullet.
I got a cannondale quick as a first helmet. Did it good?

>>1033036
Nigger, he'd be fucking DEAD if he didn't.
>>1033380
Yeah, he was. His front wheel got caught up in a hole covered by grass and he got catapulted over the bars onto more uneven concrete. Front teeth got knocked out + that internal bleeding into his skull.
>>1034706
I doubt he was wearing a fullface at the time. They were just shooting some street riding for the blog so I guess he had just a lid on. I guess it must've rolled back a bit when he faceplanted.
>>1032970
super2 is cheap and good

>Still got the D3 for actual DH
>>1037887
It's dead easy to find out who's new to DH, find the guys who bought a Super 2R and 27.5+ enduro/AM bikes.
do any bicyclists buy motorcycle helmets? i mean they are perfect for cold/bad weather.
pros to a standard cycle helmet:
+can keep your head warm
+keeps your head dry
+more protection
+more aerodynamic
cons:
-visibility decreased by 20% or something
-is heavier
-visor can damp on (but can easily be avoided by putting the visor open a bit)
-cost
(-breath problems?)
i once wore it when going to my motorcycle lessons as i only had a bike available and din't have a large enough bag for it. it was raining, winter hit so it was cold af. but my head, jesus i liked biking in the rain that day.

I'm a motorcyclist so I already have one. I don't consider using it for bicycling because of breathing restrictions. The only way to open up airflow enough is to open the visor, which pretty much negates the primary advantages that the visor brings. Also, mine has an anti-fog system, but it only works via air tunnels at speeds above 30 MP/h, so it's all around a pretty bad choice for bicycling. Instead I'll wear a normal bike helmet and eye pro
