What is this?
Where is it from?
Why would it be in Geneva, IL?
Its a SEAT, owned by VW
Company is from Spain
Someone imported it

Thanks m8!
How are they getting away with a foreign plate though?
>>1031626
They probably JUST imported the car, it's most likely very new. Those look like dealer plates, not actual Spanish plates. Temporary. Probably getting IL plates soon.
>>1031626
Certain states do not require front plates, so you can put on novelty ones.
Im from WI, we require front plates, although its not enforced much unless they are looking for a reason to pull you over. I believe in IL front plates are not mandatory.

Same thing in Alberta/Saskatchewan/Northwest Territories. Many people here in Alberta will have euro or Northwest Territories (a polar shape) plates on the front as a novelty.
>tfw I have a NWT plate but in MN 2 plates are mandatory :(
>>1031634
*polar bear shape
>>1031626
same way we see american plates in canada,
they drove there
>>1031627
> it's most likely very new
Nigga thats a 2002 Seat Ibiza, a shitbox worth ~$1500
>>1031690
how the fuck should I know? this is /n/ not /o/
>>1031692
If you don't know then why make the assumption that it's fairly new?
>>1031707
Looks clean, looks modern, those look like dealer plates
>>1031709
>Looks clean
Meaningless
>looks modern
Sure it looks like a car from this century, I wouldn't call that "very new" though
>those look like dealer plates
No they don't, and even if they did that still doesn't imply that the car is very new.
>>1031709
Okay they look pretty nice for a 14 years old cars, but if you look closely at the photo you can see chipped paint and slight difference in hood's and bumper's colors.
BTW, isn't there a law in US that makes importing non-classic used cars a pain in the ass?
>>1031620
They sell SEAT in Mexico, so like the other anon said someone probably just drove it up
Yep. We have those in Mexico. They're absolute garbage.
>>1031626
Michoacan is a Mexican state so they just drove under the wall through Tunnelo el Chapo. ILLinois does require f&r plates tho.
>>1032276
They are not that bad for what they are. They are pretty much a cheaper vw golf as they share 90% of the same parts and are based on the same platform.
>>1031690
this
>>1031627
>dealer plates
>they don't look like spanish plates
>temporary
Could you be any more retarded? baka
Of course they don't look like Spanish plates, they're from Michoacán, México. Not dealer plates, not temporary.
>>1032276
Germanfag here: Seat is a well established and successful brand owned by VW. They are considered reliable and moderately priced.
Basically, if you want VW tech and spend less, you go for Seat.
>>1033800
So, uh, I guess that means they cheat at emissions pretty good but not quite as good as VW?
>>1031739
/o/ here, basically a car has to be 25 years old for you to import it legally but there's a lot of loopholes too.
fuck off back to o with your car shit. you have your own board. seat is common in mexico. some beaner probably drove it up.
Just in case anyone is wondering, it's pronounced "say-at"
