It was 2.5 hours each way, would feel like a break after 2 hours but close enough to work/home at that point to just push through... I don't think I would ever do it again, but when I was starting out on my own I didn't have enough money to rent a place close to work, I looked at sharing with housemates but never found a place that would take me, eventually met a girl who had a place closer to work (45 minutes by bicycle ) and moved in with her

Christ, the pussies on this board. I've done multiple road trips involving 3-5 days of +12-hour-a-day driving, with only stops for fuel. My old Camry could do close to 500 miles on a tank at ~75mph, so if I fueled up in the morning, I'd usually only stop *once*.

It's not all that different than spending all day in the saddle on a bike ride, really. Plan ahead, get comfortable, get in the zone. It's a matter of mental fortitude and willpower.

i had a job in LA and stayed at a hotel some XX miles away. everyday around 9am (supposedly after rush hour) i would start driving the hour and a half towards worksite. i did about 3 hours of traffic there everyday. then one day i was dicking off on my bmx bike and in about an hour of wandering i had ended up at my work site. if i had head there on a roadbike with direction in mind, i could have easily commuted it in like half an hour, i think i looked it up and it was only like 8miles or something.
