What kind of train is the train in Zootopia based off of?
>>1027748
Part of that is definitely the old California Zephyr trains and the front half looks vaguely like a Bombardier Regina or any of its derivatives/copies.
Even fucking cartoon animals have better trains than the Land of the Free

Where is the door for the drivers cab? How is it powered, is it 3rd rail?
>>1030833
door could be inside maybe? or on the left side
>>1030833
DMU?

No visible place for engine(s) - either an engine compartment on the main level, or below the floor (that place is already taken)
It's based off of an SJW-2016 model.
The train is definitely electric and powered by third rail. If you recall, the lab on that subway car at the end of the movie used the same tracks.
>>1034027
Yucks better be LIM third rail trains.
>>1027748
What would a Zootopia version of Snowpiercer look like?
>>1034303
shit
>>1034027
>no third rail.

>Bunnyborough line ends with stub-ended track at Zootopia Central Station unshared according to Zootopia Transit Authority maps.

The cab is accessed from the passenger compartment with the door offset to right of center when looking out the front wind screen.
The two protrusions at the top (1 on each side, 1 of which is visible in this pic) are supposedly exhaust ports, and since we don't see exhaust gases it must be burning a very clean fuel - possibly ethanol extracted from carrots(?). And the power plant is likely located beneath the drivers cab, just forward of the lead trucks.

Argh.. I fucked up. That should read 'Savannah Central Station.'

The humps and vents along the roof line could also be power related. The Budd RDCs had roof mounted engines. Also notice the cap like things (intakes?). The first car has two humps and two caps, while the send car has one of each. Maybe dome cars only have one due to space restrictions. These could generate power for the lighting, HVAC, as well as electric traction motors in the trucks.
>>1027748
Nose looks like the Intercity 125, and the passenger cars look like Amfleet 1 Coaches with the Budd observation decks welded on top
Looks like an orange San Diego Sprinter train.
>>1037359
Well i'll be... that is very close. I'm willing to bet that had some influence on the design concept.
>>1037359
The front definetly looks like a Siemens Desiro Classic.
It could also be inspired by the old Deutsche Bahn BR403 LHA, pic related
>>1037689
Because it IS a Desiro.
>>1037735
I'm not talking about the mentioned pic you retard, I'm talking about OP
Definitely some HST in it, at least at the front
Well, it certainly is a great looking train. The concept art had it more rabbit themed.. Fortunately they toned it down. -whew!-
But when I first saw the movie I remember thinking 'aww man, i'd love to have that in HO scale'. 3D printer anyones? :^)
>>1038084
Really should have added air brakes although to be rabbit ears the loading gauge needs to be conformed... There's no overhead line to work with so that's a plus.
>>1027748
The moment the engineer in the freight says "wt-f?!"
>>1038121
You mean aero brakes? Nearly every train has automatic and independent airbrakes.
>>1039197
Right, control surfaces, rabbit ear air brakes.

Glorified bus
>>1039479
I wish I had something like that in my area. We have a virtually abandoned rail line thst stretches the length of my small city. I'd rather take rail and not have to stop at all the red lights the bus does. Also, the rail line passes in front of practically every mall.
The concept art for Savannah Central is amazing. Looking at the small trains way up on the upper right of the picture.
