Cycle commuters, can we have a luggage/bag thread? How do you carry your stuff while cycling?
Other forms of commuting that require luggage accepted
I use a Carradice saddlebag for daily use. It's great

Also just got this for larger loads
Generally a rucksack because its only five miles, and I had two road bikes neither of which had eyelets of any kind. However I just bought pic related for winter which has rack mounts, so will likely buy a rack and one or two sturdy Pannier bags.
As an aside, I'm hoping to use this for a couple one or two night tours as well, does anybody have any experience using a loaded non-touring soecified set up for short trips?
I'll Likely have no more than 8 or 9kilos of stuff on board and I weigh c. 73Kg. I'll most likely be travelling on quiet roads and gravel tracks...what do you think would fail first? I'll be replacing the adjustable stem with a rigid one, the frame is 7005 alu with steel fork. Sorry for slight thread hijack but I like the idea of touring yet have little knowledge of it.

I have th Carradice Nelson. Looks great, but putting it on is a bitch. Takes forever to try to loop it to the my Brooks sprung saddle because the springs are in the way.
I own the BO GEAR Sindrome.
Pretty decent, wish it was a bit bigger tho

frames are stronger than you think (except for ultra light road bikes), the weight limit has a lot more to do with the wheelset than the frame
basically, get a rack, a couple panniers with roll tops a tent and shit and go >innawoods
make sure you bring a spare tube or two and a couple hex keys just in case

your front bag is clearly the superior option.
I got this thing.

Is that a pair of trousers on the front of your bike?

THAT'S FUCKING BRILLIANT
>>1026827
Omg
I put everything on a backpack and bungee-cord it to my rear rack. If it's too much for the backpack, I attach a milk crate.

That's fucking awesome, anon.

Fuck I can't stop laughing at the goddamn pair of pants used as a bag. Fucking genius
