What lock(s) do you use?
>>
OnGuard Bulldog
Wish it was even smaller

A simple ghetto chain with a lock, my bike is a shitty bso foldable which I use for commuting and there is no thieving jamals on my country, sounds weird, but the few negros I know seems to be nice working people.

A Decathlon gold rated d lock and an OnGuard cable lock used in the sheldon Brown way. I only ever park my bike in huge public bike racks surrounded by other bikes in full view.
>>

muh nigga

This one,it's build like a champ

Abus something something, retailed for about 60 eurobux

>>1025069
>Masterlock
Problably the weakest point of that lock kek
>>
>>1024959
I don't need a good lock, I got something much better

less than 100 meters away from where I lock my bike there is place that is pooly iluminated nad poorly guarded so all bike thieves go there instead
>>
>>1025108
I also have a 2 m cable to secure my carbon seatpost and rear wheel

Also has Pinhead keyed nuts on front wheel, seatpost, and headset. Not as secure as the full Sheldon, but more convenient and versatile. These are important qualities. Why is this sort of thing unobtainable here, so I had to import from Urop?
>>
>>1025236
Nice bike, nice setup, I too rock a loop chain + u-lock. Before getting the loop I used to cut the sleeve on a chain and use a separate mini u-lock to lock the chain but this is so much more convenient. Hardly any racks to lock up to around me but plenty of poles people won't cut into.

What are your bars/basket?

I can't really recommend this as a good option, but most of the time I ride with a crappy little cable lock like pick related, it's sufficient for very low-risk situations (short stop at a suburban grocery store with no pedestrian traffic), but when I ride somewhere where I'm more worried about my bike I'll carry a basic U-lock that I use in conjunction with my crappy cable lock.

a bike i don't mind replacing each time it's stolen and a ulock.

abus 140 and a small combo chain.

I'm in a market for a new u-lock.
Abus or Kryptonite?
With or without extra cable?
With a holder to be mounted to the frame or just drop it into the bottom of a pannier (requires me getting a pannier too)?
>>
>>1026820
kryptonite
the cable is neat
just put it behind your belt when commuting, it's handy
>>
>>1024963
Same here. Been going strong trough several winters (contrary to my previous kryptonite whose lock kept seizing and needed torch and wd-40). If only the frame mount plastic thingy didn't break down. Now i just carry it in my backpack.

Any suggestions for universal / replacement frame holders?
>>
>>1027601
All frame mounts suck ass in my experience.

>>
>>1027622
Don't have a rack. Might as well strap it down to it then. I need something specifically for frame.

>>1027609
But they are so fast to use. Hate digging trough backpack for quick stops. And the original one is good, if you find a nice mount spot and if it didn't break down. I even considered to order a metallic replica of the original part machined, but it cost more than new lock.
>>
>>1024959
The one that came with my front door.
>>
>>1024963
OnGuard's been by favorite thus far. Getting 5 keys with your lock has been a godsend. Only issue I've had has been the lock freezing up during the winter. Happened twice and wd40 cleared it up well enough.

For shit U locks, Kryptonite's lock was the worst in my opinion, the key turned easily maybe 10% of the time. I've had a suntour one that worked out well. I got a diamondback one that worked fantastically key-wise, it just started to fall apart to its base pieces once the plastic frame cracked. Still usable, just shit to handle when unlocked.
>>
>>1027601
3 straps (2 of which are elastic) to suspend it in your main triangle.

I use a Hiplok DX, it's pretty good since you can just hang it from your belt instead of using a frame mount, but I really wish it was longer.

So you don't actually transport yourself on your bike? A round trip doesn't count
>>
>>1030400
Every trip is a round trip if you eventually return to your home (which is a house for that poster); however, sometimes home is just where the heart is, so who's to say we actually left home if our heart is on a bike?
You don't count.

Isn't that lock cuttable with bolt cutters?
Currently considering buying one but unsure.

They all are cuttable with a big enough bolt cutter. This particular one isn't different from the rest.

I have both of these (picture not mine, found on google, but exact same locks)

Cost about £35 and £55 each

I bought the yellow one just before I moved to London to supplement the orange one, because I had had a bike nicked the previous year and I was determined to use two locks every single time I parked my bike so a thief would NEVER get it

These days I use the orange one most of the time because it's lighter, or the yellow one if I'm going somewhere high risk. I only use both if I know I'm leaving the bike overnight somewhere, e.g. a train station
>>
Is it possible to remove the mounting bracket that's on the lock from kryptonite u-locks? That shit annoys me.
