Hey /n/

What is your opinion on Bianchi bikes?

I really like their celeste paintjob.
>>
Bianchis are as good as any other bike that doesn't fall apart after 2 weeks of use
>>
Probably my favorite brand for history and that famous celeste paint. Even the name is cool. Never owned one though.
>>
price/performance wise theyre shit.
>>
>>1024458
They have better price/performance than other "Italian" brands (even though Bianchi at this point is not in any way Italian). It's basically the low-end Italian bike. Like all Italian bikes, it has shit price/performance. Unlike other Italian bikes, it isn't Italian, and it's not top of the line, meaning you could literally buy something else just as good for cheaper.

At least if you buy a Colnago Master of a Pinarello F8, you can say you have something special, top of the line and different from other bikes even if you spent ten grand on it. With Bianchi, it's just a mid-range bike, with a high-end price, and an Italian brand name.

I've owned a couple different Bianchis - nice bikes on average, but not magically different than other nice bikes made of the same materials and equipped with the same components.

The only thing that makes Bianchi different (in the US) is that it's a highly valued brand name, so they command slightly higher prices than comparable bikes with different branding. Having their own trademark color helps too.

Bianchi has a great range of steel frame commuter and CX bikes that are priced about equal to what other major brands charge for steel frame bikes.
>>
They sell a steel bike with downtube shifters for $4,000. I bought a steel bike with downtube shifters from a guy on Craigslist for $175. Feel free to draw your own conclusions.

youre a hipster, pic related is the bike you bought on CL
>>
Do they have a copyright on celeste-painted road bikes or something?
>>
Overpriced, overrated.

They used to make really good bikes but now they just make decent bikes that cost more than they are worth.

Nothing against them but aside from aesthetics they don't offer anything groundbreaking.

Celeste 4 lyfe.
>>
>>1024581
Hot.

Except those etap derailers, those are fucking hideous.
>>
>>1024583
Electronic drive trains are the worst thing to ever happen to cycling.
>>
>>1024581
Is that yours? Looks great f᠎am.

I'm eyeing an Impulso w/ 105 t᠎bh, mite get one in a year or so. (Currently riding a Cannondale caad8 with 2300s)
>>
>>1024524

what's wrong with that bike
>>
>>1024598
nothing, Im just trying to break down the logic that classic bikes that used to cost a lot of money can be had cheap now used, somehow hipsters think these old bikes nullify the cost of manufacturing a bike of equal quality today, you basically spent $3000 bucks for a good bike then when you adjust for inflation

Seems fine for $900
>>
>>1024607
I agree, I think its a perceived myth that Bianchi bikes are more expensive compared to same quality bikes of other brands. Bianchi makes $750 bikes like everyone else, they make $1500 bikes like everyone else, etc, etc
>>
>>1024608
Try buying them second hand, always expensive.
>>
>>1024526
No, but it's their brand color, and anyone else that uses it is seen as a copy cat. Also Bianchi themselves thought it was ugly and tried to phase it out until the hipsters got mad, because the hipsters like the brand color that was instantly identifiable.
>>
They're very good looking (though I prefer Colnagos) and I've never ridden a bad one.

That said, they are expensive. A lot of that is the name. That doesn't detract from how capable they are, however, and there are a lot of very good Bianchis out there with competent riders.
>>
>>1024610
Assuming it doesn't need $200 of work...
>>
>>1024465
Sad but true.
>>
The Countervail stuff in their higher-end frames like the Infinito is great.

I like the Volpe and Eroica a great deal.

Dunno shit about their MTB range

Call me retrogrouch, but that's my dream bike and some day I will buy one even if I must live like a poor during some time.

should I buy this

>>
>>1025666
link doesn't work but I found it anyways, $350 is pretty steep for a mediocre model with crappy Sora shifters and mismatched parts. If the tires were new GP4000s and the bike was 100% ready to ride then I think the price would be okay, but otherwise I wouldn't pay that much for it.
>>
>>1024587
poorfag detected
>>
>>1024508
I've got a steel bianchi from 79' that I got off of CL for $400 with another bike I sold for $200. Full 600 and it rides like a dream. They're great bikes if you can find them at a reasonable price.
>>
>>1024465
>Bianchi doesn't have high end stuff
Specialissima is literally one of the best framesets available right now. All of their countervail frames are an absolute joy to ride.

Also unlike a lot of well known Italian brands Bianchi has offerings for almost any price point. Celeste is also one of the best paintjobs there is.
>>
>>1024587

Until you've ridden and lived with one for a while, withhold your opinion
>>
>>1025697
Bianchi isn't Italian anymore.
>>
>>1025760
I think they're designed in italy and made in china.
