ITT: department store (Walmart, Kmart, etc.) and other super low end bikes. Bonus points for wacky or unusual ones. I wouldn't probably want to ride pic related though (the frame looks really questionable to me).
My old bicycle, some canadian tire supercycle I got when i was 16. It started off as a flat bar bike but i converted it to drops and fit the clickshifters on the bar.

Also worth a watch are the Seth's Bike Hacks videos of him trashing around a Walmart Mongoose
>>1023036
Last week I saw one bike (almost like that one but with V brakes) on the side of a garbage container, I almost got happy when saw it, but then I looked at the frame and the suspension and kept walking. On that city I haven't any bike so a BSO could be nice, but that bike was too much shit for me, that's the kind of bike only a hobo/poor as fuck spic would ride.

i paid $500 fir this piece of shit- the rear triangle has a good inch lateral wobble
>>1023223
Well tighten it
>>1023220
That was fun.
>>1023223
Did you try tightening it?
My daily ride.
>>1023290
I can't honestly dock you for that
>>1023290
jesus christ
>>1023290
Do you make "vroom vroom" noises while riding around on it?
>>1023220
I'm not a mtb rider, but is the suspension supposed to jerk like that?
>>1023311
What do you mean?
>>1023311
You mean the fork? That's the result of shitty rebound damping, if it has any at all. If it does have any I wouldn't be surprised if it was that fast on purpose, when idiots bounce up and down on it in Walmart they think that springing back like a pogo stick is a good thing.
Little bro's bike. I enjoy doing skids with the strong ass coaster brake it has
>>1023346
This is why I switched out the rear wheel
>>1023348
On that particular scene, the bike frame was filled with sand and the wheels with water
>>1023290
That bottle cage
>>1023354
Why do they do stupid shit like that? I notice a lot of people intentionally trying to damage them as much as possible and using it as evidence that they are horrible bikes that are unreasonable for even the cheap casual rider.
Just like on /k/, where people post pictures of blown up Glocks from idiots shooting over pressure ammo and blaming the gun. That, and all the "torture tests" as if they actually matter.
>>1023358
They made it in response to people who were complaining that they couldn't wheelie or bunnyhop because "their bikes were too heavy". It had nothing to do with the Walmart bike, at that point they had fucked around with it quite a bit. You should watch the videos, they're not that long and pretty fun.
>>1023358
While I am on the guns and bikes analogy, Hi-Points are the BSOs of the gun world.
They are made from cheap metal, are very heavy for their size, but they function well enough at a very cheap price.
>>1023359
>They made it in response to people who were complaining that they couldn't wheelie or bunnyhop because "their bikes were too heavy".
True, I have used that as an excuse for like forever, when honestly I just never really learned how to jump. I can jump my cruiser bike fine. This is the bike, it cost $150 at walmart. The chainguard and fenders were crappy and have been removed. Going to get some cheap MTB tires to replace the worn ones soon.
>>1023360
Hi points are more like the flying pigeon or hiten steel beach cruisers. Crude. Old tech.
The full suspension shit is more like Taurus. Crap build quality may kill you.
>>1023405
>Hi points are more like the flying pigeon or hiten steel beach cruisers. Crude. Old tech.
>The full suspension shit is more like Taurus. Crap build quality may kill you.
Yeah, I guess that makes more sense. The cruiser isn't pretending to be something it's not, like a Taurus imitating a Beretta, or a NEXT bike imitating a downhill bike.
Here's something interesting -- an electric pennyfarthing. From the pix, I assume it's greatest advantage is that it can be taken onto public transport without hassle.

Aliexpress bikes look worse, are worse designed, and are more expensive than Walmart bikes.
>>1023891
how the fuck can you tell?
>>1023886
Yes, I tend to agree. Thing is, they're all made in China; it's just that the buyers for Walmart filter out the really bad stuff.
That said, I'd really like to test ride that electric pennyfarthing just for the sake of experience. It might even be fun.
>>1023808
that's some next level hipster shit. but i kind of like it. i guess it would be really convenient in urban areas, since it takes up so little space. i would really like to test ride it. cornering might be a problem i guess, but just for commuting or getting around town, when short to middle distance, it could be quite nice
>>1023955
There are several pix on the AliExpress page that show how easy it is to bring the bike onto public transportation without having to fold or disassemble it. That's quite an advantage.
The biggest disadvantage I see is that the rider's feet will always be rotating with the pedals even when using motor power only.
>>1023962
>the rider's feet will always be rotating with the pedals even when using motor power only
you sure about that? might be a freewheel hub, i didn't find any info it's not. am i overlooking something?
>>1023290
Triple Suspension Bike, ahead of your time
>>1023966
I suppose it's possible that it's a freewheel. But, as you have brought up, the specs given on the item page are far from complete -- for instance, how many watts is the hub motor?
Too bad there is no video showing it in action.
>>1024288
If you look through the listing there's one photo that says 36v/9A so it's probably about 320w, however I can't read the Chinese text before that.
There's also a photo ofthe front hub and it does look like a regular fixed uni hub so it most likely is a freewheel.
looks like a freewheel
Was Murray or Huffy the first manufacturer to embrace big box retail? It was interesting, because for a while they still made them in America.
Wow, this looks like a great bike.
>>1027316
>foldable
>>1024837
Neither. Huffman was technically around before Murray (and AMF) but all three companies were part of larger manufacturing concerns that made bicycles prior to the post-war era, and all three sold bikes through the department/general/hardware stores that were eventually replaced by Walmart and the other "big box" chains.
I had this bike when I was a kid- I remember buying it from a grocery store. Yes it fell apart in a few days. I now ride a memed out garbon mtb.
>>1027389
I also had this- when it got stoled I got a dyno VFR- that also got stolen but recovered. If i could find white 27.5 tires i'd paint my current garbon like this huffy.

bro you need to ditch that and come do some DH with us. you can use my old kona! beers on me! LAST ONE DOWN IS A JOEY!
>>1027401
i'm scared of DH- riding along looking for lines option a: 15 foot gap, option b: 7 foot drop. I puss out and ride the brakes all the way down.
>>1027389
It had a SWEET commercial
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bis3ifDKvqs
I wish I could find Huffy's commercials for adult/cruiser bikes but they were more interested in selling kids stuff.
>>1027330
it'll probably fold itself in half after the first jump.

watch the commercial for the huffy freestyle expert- its dope.

Maybe that's part of the design. It will fold when you do a jump

Looked in the Wal-Mart ad and the only marked down bike is the Roadmaster at 58 bucks. Any deals anywhere else?
>>1023346
Bummer?
>>1023036
There have been various incarnations of that NEXT mountain bike for a while and I remember them being recalled in the early 2000s - the late 90s through early 2000s ones had suspension forks that broke and people were getting hurt. The bike is still sold as the "Gauntlet" and I would be a little hesitant to ride one.
My klunkerized Huffy Millenial. Moto bars, sturmey drum up front, 3-piece BMX cranks, MTB tires and saddle, and a giant-ass basket.
>>1029599
that's awesome

Thanks, 52 pounds of awesome.
FYI, that's not a BSO you posted, it's a serotta with Huffy stickers.

Craigslist, they are MSR atv bars. You can get them and similar ones on eBay shit-cheap.
Retard here, how shitty would this bike be? I only ride two miles a day. I'm thinking sage green.

>>1030729
I have thought about that bike. I ride a cruiser with coaster brakes every day and even well over 20 mph the coaster brakes are fine and have saved me from traffic collisions. They are slower than a regular brake. Try a cruiser/BMX/whatever to get used to coaster brakes first. I have never rode a road bike with coaster brakes. They were more common in the 1970s but are uncommon now.
>>1023290
this was not designed by an engineer
>>1023364
you could make yourself a respectable clunker with just a few modifications.
>>1031040
You underestimate the incompetence of the engineers the entire western world is outsourcing to. They can't even take the poo to the loo.
>>1029611
No way that's actually a huffy.
>>1031042
It has 29" freestyle tires on it. If I come across a pair of moto/BMX cruiser bars with a BMX stem I might put them on. My commute is faster on this than on the mountain bike.
>>1031307
I suspected as much. I have an old Serotta with shit paint... I should get huffy stickers, or Schwinn Varsity decals
