More vertical tail for when stacking it up on top of the existing structure would be stupid.

when doing extreme high alpha manouvers the rudder can get a lot of turbulent flow from the front of the wind, loosing some control, the stabilizers on the bottom dont have that problem. im not sure if this is the case for this paricular aicraft but for some it is.

Ventral fins; their job is to help maintain stability about the vertical axis when the tail is partially or completely stalled (in high alpha situations)

God damn, the Aggressor F-16s have such sick paintwork. I loved looking at them during the JBER air shows before spamming squadron stickers in their wheel wells.

why do planes look like birds? or do birds look like planes? why are they so similar looking when they fly so different?
>>
>>1022696
Birds fly, people don't. When people wanted to fly, they had to look at birds and imitate their 'technology". That is how first aircraft airfoils were invented. But birds are still far superior in almost every aspect of flying, except high speed.

Ventral fins provide additional directional stability.

that's a decoy model number so the enemies think they're looking at a friendly VF-45 instead of an enemy F-16
