Chinese have zero design aesthetics. Everything looks cheap as fuck.
They can copy tech and steal IP better than anyone but they just lack the gene for good design.
>>1004058
This. They all look cheap and crappy as hell. You can just smell the cheap plastic when you see the photos.
>>1004058
It's a combination of the light style, chrome, nature of the glossy shit and curves
All of the curves scream "not quite there" and "we tried our hardest to make it not look like the one we copied" by changing that one bit and throwing the whole aesthetic off
Waratah - body manufactured in china. The design was exotic enough to them that there were issues in delivery and launch. Impressively, they haven't collapsed in a pile of asbestos yet. Maybe it's because the trains were a custom job so they didn't know how to fuck it up
>>1004342
Wow, it looks like those doors are very high above the ground. For what platform height are those designed?
>>1004346
1100mm above rail height or around there
Right...
Anyway, china's new monorail design
>>1004389
>>1004392
Driver's compartment
>>1004393
Unlike older Alweg-type monorail, there is no bulge or protrusion in the middle of the aisle (where the bogies are usually situated).

If you don't like it then leave. Use the bloody hide function or something
>>1004342
I'm not aware of any standard off-the-shelf design China has done for any export rolling stock, aside from CRH380. More likely than not, the buyer specifies the design and paint scheme, and based on their 2nd/3rd world clientele, that's where the aged designs predominate. There's nothing significant differentiating new rolling stock in legacy transit cities.
>>1005500
There's also the fact that the quality control differs considerably between the subsidiaries within CRRC
For example, CRRC Sifang and Zhuzhou produced decent (excellent even) rolling stocks due to their collaboration with Bombardier and Alstom as well as the amount of resources they've spent on R&D
Meanwhile shit like this
>>100265
as well as the new tram-like train made for philippines metro were made by CRRC Dalian, which is known to offer dated-designed, obsolete, substandard quality, asbestos-riddled train. They're not favored even in chinese secondary and tertiary cities, who would rather use secondhand metro from primary cities than to use their train

>grade crossing
wat
>>1005692
It's a technology demonstrator
>>1004396
Unless it uses some other method to float on top of the rail (maglev, air cushion, etc.), running smaller bogies will likely translate to lower speeds or shorter maintenance intervals.
>>1005694
The floor is raised afaik, which is why the train looks taller than its contemporaries
>pic related
>>1005457
I'm just calling out propagandists where I see em bub
Their car crash designs are really entertaining
>>1005694
Monorails are used for metro applications. Speed is almost irrelevant.
nope.avi
they sold locomotives to Australia that were riddled with ASBESTOS
soon as they were opened up for maintenance the mechanics got doused with the shit
they had to dump them at sea
>>1006082
Ugly af
>>1005694
Low floor tram type bogies probably do the job just fine. Miniaturization is real in train things.
>>1006452
Most monorails run on rubber tires, which have mre issues that steel wheels when it comes to making them smaller.
