Also "family friendly" in our case includes swearing and nudity, it's mostly violence that's a no-go as my 5 year old freaks out.

OP, there are a few bike related anime: Yowamushi Pedal and Overdrive are your typical sports anime series. Nasu: Summer in Andalusia is a great little film made by former Ghibli staff that also has a sequel film (Wataridori). And there's Hill Climb Girl, a short animation. Besides those, there are a few episodes that involve cycling (more than just featuring characters riding mamacharis, which happens in lots of anime) in Golden Boy, Honey and Clover, and The Tatami Galaxy. Finally, the Longriders anime adaption is supposed to start airing October 8.

Yowapeda is probably the most complete cycling anime show, followed by Nasu/secuel and Overdrive.Nasu is a more mature anime and pretty accurate to real life (I'm spanish and it looks like the creator knew the basics).

Also it's /o/ material, but I would like to recommend Initial D, street racing and eurobeat is awesome and totally SFW, the first season is a solid 10/10 show.
