I'm a Bob Dylan obsessive but I still have plenty time for Leonard Cohen. Why does everything have to be reduced to a contest?

I prefer Leonard but he had nowhere near the impact of Bob. He almost certainly wouldn't have even become a songwriter if Bob hadn't first.

It's kind of hard, and ultimately ridiculous to compare contemporary songwriters to Dylan. It's like shitting on The Odyssey because you liked Ulysses better.
