Comeback albums that warranted the comeback.

Pic unreleated

Reply to my post if you loved Wildflower.
For me, it was a grower.
>>75177702

>>75177736
shit made me feel like a kid again
>>75177736
Better than SILY in all honesty
>>75177702
this band is so overrated
>>75177702
I haven't got a chance to check this one out yet, how does it stack up against Since I Left You?
>>75177736
almost as overrated as the debut
does 6 years count as a comeback?
>>75177822
i'd say so
>>75177736
OP here. Hated it on first listen (SILY is my favorite album)
Didn't listen to it again for six months. Now I fucking love it. It's like the daytime companion to SILY in the nighttime
>>75177702
possibly unpopular opinion
>>75177715
Biggest grower of the year desu. From a 2 to a 6 - 7 honestly
>>75177835
Now they have to make a sunrise/sunset album.
>>75177736
Not a grower, loved it instantly. Fuck the haters. Here's your (you)
>>75177715
Nice bait.
Thoughts?
>>75177880
They've already teased LP3. I can't wait
>>75177736
It's incredible. Loved it in my first listen. According to last.fm it is the album I've heard the most
>>75177702
Pic related, the only good song on the album.
>>75178002
It's funny how everyone pretty much forgot about it afterwards
>>75178136
hell yeah loved that album

Yeah m b v was one of those things where the hype was so big that it became more about the hype of a new album itself rather than the hype for that specific album. It's not like the album is bad, but I don't think anyone would say it came close to meeting our expectations for a follow-up to Loveless. It's like if Jeff Magnum out of nowhere released a new Neutral Milk Hotel album. People would lose their minds, but the album wouldn't be close to In The Aeroplane Over The Sea and everyone would quickly forget about it. I think the same can be said outside of music, with the hype for Half-Life 3 getting to the point where Valve knew they couldn't meet people's expectations so instead they just moved on, especially after Duke Nukem Forever.
Although D'Angelo managed to avoid all of that somehow with Black Messiah, which people mention fairly regularly IMO. Would the Tribe Called Quest album from last year count? Although that was less of a comeback and more of a "farewell" album.
All I fucking know is once Tool releases that album no one will give a shit about it after a few months, just like m b v.
Arguably one of their best albums, too. At least in the top 3.

Underrated and hated in my opinion.

Supernatural - Santana
Made up for a mediocre stream of albums from the 80s
Tee bee aych
Third
>>75177781
it's better, but its close enough to argue
>>75177702
AMERIC ANFOOTBALL 2
>>75178593
i mean, expecting anywhere near loveless after loveless is stupid and albums burn out fast in the internet age but then again as far as i can tell it's seldom brought up even when discussing shoegaze specifically unless someone is really delving into the band.

the second i first heard Because I'm Me kicked in I knew it was AOTY. It's much better than SILY imo and I absolutely adore that album.
Since it came out I've yet to be able to stop listening to it regularly.
>>75177736
I think I like SILY and Wildflower as much, it's hard to compare them.
>>75177736
Once it grows on you it's fucking incredible. In the second half in becomes a perfect psychedelic suite. Really makes you think about all the beautiful bullshit you did when you were younger.
American Football as well.
