Why can't I hear the bass guitar in music?
I think bassists are pointless additions to most bands.
You can't it when it's there, but you would notice is it wasn't. Also learn what a bass actually sounds like and you will be able to hear it in most songs.

Well this thread is probably a bait, but if you can't hear the bass you're probably 90% deaf
it compliments and bridges the other parts of the mix together. Its frequencies are mostly crossed over with other stuff but like >>75154472
said you would probably notice if it was missing or done badly
>>75154498
Flea always wants to draw attention, but Frusciante always stole the show
>>75154453
depends on the mixing/band

The absolute state of this board.

You're using terms that don't mean anything. A guitar can give a nice riff or a solo, and with the drums you hear the thuds and sometimes the sharp metal sounds
A bass doesnt sound like anything

listen to the smiths they have god tier bass lines
>This is the Andy of good bass mixing. Reply to this post with "Jam on Rourko" to be blessed with good song mixing ability.
