I used to listen to the plastic age daily on workdays from a couple of months, it never got old, actually, just as Costello's My Aim Is True.
It's really just a all around great album. The lyrics are catchy, well performed, clear, with well distinguished themes an such.
What really seals the deal here is the sound - the amazing, rich, perfectly produced, again - clear, catch and well performed, but also richly diverse.
I had to actually download the album right now to listen to the opener outside of youtube. I had such a vivid memory of how impactful it sounded. It's just so relentlessly dynamic and desperate, in the tempo of suicides' punk anthem - ghost rider.
Even more, the chorus, with the intonation of the voice that acts so human in the fast tempo new wave march. The subtle use of language in the phrases.
It deploy so many strategies on so many fronts, and does the finale so absurdly between parade and paradise, that it burn your ear
