I couldn't tell for scale. I went for Euro for cost alone. My band mate uses 5U, which he loves, but they are heavy as fuck in a full rack.

There are a bunch of Chinese companies that sell components for cheap, but it pays to buy in bulk and make two modules at a time and hawk the second for cheese.

The 258c looks it's mostly all Mouser & Small Bear who were always a pleasure to deal with when I briefly did DIY. But yeah some of those semiconductors need to be looked up on eBay. It always brightened my day to get a package in the mail full of weed baggies of vintage no-longer-in-production Synth DIY new/old stock ICs and transistors
