I don't think all composers are equal geniuses. Some innovate, some just copy the innovators. Would you say the ones copying a style, sound or techniques from one artist are just as much of geniuses as the one artist they copied that had come up with all those techniques to begin with? Of course not

while i can't apply this to composers, when i was younger i had a favorite album and artist but now as ive listened to more and different kinds of music i have been able to find what to appreciate in each niche and don't have a personal overall winner, i mostly push the music into categories of i enjoyed it or i didnt and then within the enjoyed category if ill remember it or not
