well idm and chillwave are both technically speaking under downtempo. downtempo also includes a ton of other stuff like ambient music, trip hop, acid jazz, etc.

thanks for your suggestions but these are both too hardcore for the station. it's geared more towards casual home listening rather than danceable tunes. there's certainly a middle ground, and while your suggestions sound neat, they are too intense

this is such a lame elitist attitude that is pretty toxic imo. music is music. there can be some incredibly creative downtempo music like Autechre and Boards of Canada and there can be a lot of boring soundcloud artists that follow a formula to make techno that sounds like it came out of detroit. and vice versa. So what if the demographics are different?
