Sorry, but what the fuck do you expect.
It's a meme album.
It's a really well made meme album, but still the kind of album that doesn't have staying power due to it's nature.
If you were really into it or something, be at least happy that people still remember Bustin and Wow Wow, and will probably continue to link them to new people for a couple of years at least.
>>75108630
Everything Now is a hidden gem. There are some profound and cleverly constructed concepts in here. I've taken plenty from it as a text. It's from the heart. There is plenty here to get something from.
Yes, it did come out this year!
Hey guys remember The Flaming Lips? Me neither!
>>75108630
More like whack-up, lol
>>75109444
Man, hang is a wonderful album and foxygen straight up KILLS IT live
>>75109444
Gayest album of 2017
>>75109629
Pretty sure plenty of people still enjoy it a lot
>>75109669
>>>75109629 (You)
>Pretty sure plenty of people still enjoy it a lot
Haven't heard a murmur about it since it released, but then again that could be because I haven't gone into a Chipotle or Starbucks since then either
>>75109452
RIP Wayne Coyne
>>75109691
It's posted in almost every aoty thread
>>75109629
definitely talked about less on /mu/ than their first two LPs, but I think this will stand the test of time.
>>75109452
Haven't bothered listening to it at all. Embryonic is possibly my favorite flaming lips album and the Terror was also great. Think I just stopped caring about them around their whole Miley Cyrus phase.
>hey, how about we take nujabes beats and add jill scott vocals to make the tracks sound even better and fresher
>>75108945
Anyone have this? I looked through the 'chive but could only find...what happened with her a few months ago?
>>75110358
YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO BE GOOD
>>75108630
That one was forgotten on purpose though
>>75108911
What do you mean? I still think about this everyday. New surprises come out of it everyday.
>>75109629
Same here, just because it's not as much of a meme as Fleet Foxes's previous work doesn't mean it's forgotten
>>75108934
They’ve lost their melancholic style
best album of the year but its not well known
>>75109156
What did you guys think of this? When I was starting to get into non-totally-surface-level music they were my heroes and the only band I saw live, even though I had to fly all the way to fucking Canada. I'm scared of ruining their winning streak.
>>75108945
Was hyped af for this but it turned out to be a snoozefest
>>75110748
Same, but then I saw the album cover.
>>75110732
If you're a fan of their other albums, it's actually not a bad listen at all. For a BSS album in 2017, you couldn't ask for much more.
>>75110358
>>75110396
give it 3-4 listenings. it will click.
I haven't even heard about this till yesterday
>>75110852
Cheers m8, I'll make a go for it
>>75110689
That came out in 2016
>>75110891
good choice. Had no idea they even had an album out
>>75108934
jamie should just do his own thing and leave the other two behind
>>75108911
still really good. one of my favorites for sure
>>75109629
still listening to this one. i like this one a lot even though there are some dull moments in the back half
>>75109396
this, it's one of those albums that I have no idea how to rate honestly. I can't tell if their high-concept approach was a complete failure or total success and as much as the music and lyrics leave a lot to be desired, it's got some of the most replay value of any of the 200-some-odd albums I've heard from this year. It's probably not going to have a spot on my end of the year list but whether they intended it to or not, it's an album that challenges a lot of my assumptions about why I listen to music and why I like the music I like
>>75109691
Hey man, I worked at Chipotle and it was never played here
>>75111218
I really need to check this out as I loved Alopecia, Elephant Eyelash and Testarossa.
>>75112384
Moh Lhean is good. it helps if you don't expect yoni to rap or feature obvious hooks
haven't heard Testarossa but i should
>>75110882
It's not inaccessible. It's just sublimely dull and ignores how they previously and successfully handled melancholy. The lyrics are at their worst too. There's not much to click, it sounds like their last 2 albums just worse in every way imaginable. The song writing is a wreck too, they used to write catchy and impactful choruses and now it's all forgettable trite.
>>75112427
i saw yoni at a show recently and he's dating a 19/20 year old. it's kinda weird
Only remembered for its atrocious cover
>>75109904
>nujabes beats and add jill scott vocals
sounds chill as fuck man, imma have to give this a listen
still my aoty
>>75109629
I see a couple threads a week about this album
>>75108934
Wait what, I thought this was better than Coexist.
>>75112558
lol dude knows what he likes
where did you see him ?
Grizzly Bear
LCD Soundsystem
Any King Gizzard that isn't Banana
Spoon
Broken Social Scene
Feist
>>75112602
I liked Ill Ray, but everything else on that album couldn't hold a candle to anything on 48:13.
Forgotten does not mean great
>>75114512
well i see 0 good albums itt so you're in good company
PANERA BREAD
>>75114512
damn that's a true forgotten album I'm still not gonna believe they made an album this year until I google it in a minute
>>75114539
this wasn't forgotten enough
>>75114512
>>75114617
that came out in 2016
>>75112769
Usually disappointed about it.
I sure was, the only album more disappointing was Everything Now.

found +- a bit meh and couldn't be bothered to listen to this. If it's anything like the lead single, I'll pass. Still listen to frengers, kites and NMS regularly.
>>75114901
+- is great
>>75112690
im not big into classical but doesnt this sound like all his other stuff? im listening for the first time now and its so sappy
>Actress - AZD
This guy was really hyped around 2010 but I haven't seen anyone talk about this album. It's actually pretty good though.
>GY!BE - Luciferian Towers
I know this isn't even out yet. I'm predicting it gets remembered similarly to their last two LPs
>>75115161
>GY!BE
I sometimes forget they even still make music.
>>75114623
lol
>>75114392
And 48:13 is way worse than Velociraptor or WRPLA
>>75115243
Unlike Kasabian, this one is remembered only for its great cover
And that Weeaboos song
>>75115243
for some reason it reminds me of this
>>75112602
>Forgotten bands
will anyone remember this a year from now?
>>75111156
just like they did with that parjinder chick
>>75115534
only has like a couple good songs, so yeah.
>>75115695
That came out in 2016 I thought?

Tbh, I only mildly liked this the first listen but giving it another shot last week made me appreciate it a lot more.
Not as good as cross, but way better then AVD.
Solid 8/10 imo
>>75114512
>>75114617
They didn't. He's posting the updated deulux version which has some b-sides and extra songs.
Blink has been kind of pushing it as a follow-up album
>>75114539
fuck, i didnt even know Mark put a new one out. Guess im off to listen, thanks anon
>>75115534
Asides from Saturn Barz and like two others, nobody will want to remember the CD where the Gorillaz were barely even on it. I was so broken-hearted when I heard Sex-Murder-Party
>>75115534
The biggest grower of the year for me. It's still not great, and I wish Damon was on it more, but I don't hate it like I used to
>>75115161
do you honestly think that the people on this board could have a conversation about actress tho
It was talked at release (it even leaked here), then Fantano gave it a bad review and everyone went silent.
9/10 AOTY IMO

how could one forget to beat your meat and go to sleep?
>>75117603
Does anyone on /mu/ even give a shit about her?
The album's good but nowhere near as solid as Wed 21 which was great
>>75108630
I can't bring myself to hate this. I just wish they had dropped the bullshit anti-commercialism 80's pop dickriding and gone full depressing western neon suburbs.
Also Everything Now is catchy as hell.
>>75117712
I like her but her albums sound a bit too same-y from album to album for me to consider her one of my favorites
>>75115645
only their first album is good
>>75116507
not popular on /mu/ =/= forgotten
There was literally one thread about this album on the release date and it had like 6 replies
i fucking love how mu makes me find good music still being made..
>>75117954
extremely pleb opinion
>>75114539
I still listen to this one, however 30 seconds is a different story
>>75118580
can't forget something that you never noticed in the first place, did this get any press outside of that Bandcamp Weekly feature?
love Bedroom Witch tho, thanks anon

Because I wanted it to be better.
I fucking loved them. Then they released this pile of shit. All the songs are so cliche and terrible, this has to be a joke. That mister Jones song isn't even on there. I waited 3 years for this?!?
>>75117918
You're easily taken with gimmicks.
>>75114704
You're on crack
Crack-Up is their best album

Stop.
I can't tell if I'm just getting older, or if all of my favorite artists are just getting worse
>>75115891
let me tell ya Sex-Murder-Party is just as bad live as it sounds on the record
>>75117603
one of the best albums of the year
>>75121203
Right? I can't tell if I start to like songs after many listens, or if I'm just convincing myself that I like them because I /want/ to like them
