The Mono one is more powerful
>>
>>75104261
What does this even mean? Just change the volume so they're equal. The soundscape that that is evoking is not properly explored in mono. I prefer just about every Beatle song in mono and will defend mono forever but you're dead wrong here. Everything that is happening in that song in mono is happening much brighter in stereo.
>>
>>75103950
>Thinking mono is better when really the only reason to listen to music in mono is for the novelty factor of being more accurate to the original recordings (that most of the time sound worse)
>>
>>75104546
Momo isnt a meme, although the beatles its fune for stereo. They were far ahead of any other group with stereo mixes
>>
Thing is, the Beatles themselves were operating the mixers for the mono version. The stereo version was Emerick & co. attempting to emulate them. Listen to both versions and you'll notice slight differences. That said, if you prefer it in stereo, that's your prerogative. Half of the bad is dead anyway lmao.
>>
I'm sure everyone agrees Rain and Paperback writer and two of the better songs from the Revolver sessions so where in the tracklisting can we put them

Not him, but yes some stereo mixes are bad but some are very good and sometimes paint a picture that the mono version doesn't. A lot of the songs with jangley guitars are given new life in stereo (Beatles for Sale, Help!). If you're really a fan of the Beatles you'll have them in mono and in stereo because it let's you listen to the Beatles twice with each time offering a different experience.

t. Prefers mono 90% of the time for anything in the 60s

Think what you will, but Revolver is GOAT. Mind you it would be better if For No One was deleted, but that's just my personal opinion.

>>75115099
I'll never agree with this. Just listen to the mono one then listen to the stereo one. It's not even fucking close. Just no. John's voice is powerful, almost frighteningly so in stereo. He actually sounds like the voice of God like he was intending. And those tape loops and sound effects get to move all over the place and really ease into the composition in stereo. I take every other Beatle song in mono but NOT Tomorrow Never Knows. It's a perfectly balanced stereo mix and improved the song in every way.
>>
>>75115139
idk man for me the stereo version has the superior quality and you can hear every single loop and vocal crystal clear, but everything is balanced with no punch, everything is too panned to either end to be as effective as I'd like it to me

SHE SAID, I KNOW WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE DEAD, I KNOW WHAT IT IS TO BE SAD

>>
>>75115172
Maybe something is wrong with your ears or your sound system. Tomorrow Never Knows is head and shoulders the best Beatles stereo mix. If all of their songs got this treatment their stereo mixes would probably be considered standard.

What's amazing is, go listen to Taxman in stereo off the same album. It's bloody awful. There's 4 tracks going in this song, drums, bass, guitar, and George singing. All 3 instruments are on the left. George is dead center. Like, what the fuck? Who thought this was good enough ?

Then you go to Tomorrow Never Knows. Bass and drums, dead center like they should be. John's voice is infront of you but it's also around you and it's CRYSTAL clear. The train horns rise from nothing out of nowhere. The sound effects like in and around. Instead of in the mono version where everything is predictable and right infront of you. In stereo it's like bring in the song here.

not him but I made just what you asked for last year, I think this is the right tracklist. I haven't listened to it in a while so I don't know if it works but just glancing at it I don't see any problems:

Disc 1
[Side A]
1. Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band
2. With A Little Help From My Friends
3. Strawberry Fields Forever
4. Being For The Benefit of Mr Kite!
5. Lovely Rita
6. I Am The Walrus
[Side B]
1. Good Morning Good Morning
2. She’s Leaving Home
3. Fixing A Hole
4. Baby You’re A Rich Man
5. When I’m Sixty-Four
6. All You Need Is Love

Disc 2
[Side A]
1. Magical Mystery Tour
2. The Fool On The Hill
3. Flying
4. Blue Jay Way
5. Within You And Without You
6. Your Mother Should Know
[Side B]
1. Hello Goodbye
2. Getting Better
3. Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds
4. Penny Lane
5. Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise)
6. A Day In The Life
>>

Hmm, maybe I'd put All Together Now before Strawberry Fields Forever (it sounds weird but in my head I'm picturing a really interesting transition between the two) or before When I'm Sixty-Four. I genuinely have no idea where Only a Northern Song would fit, maybe after Your Mother Should Know? and It's All Too Much would work between Penny Lane and Sgt Pepper's (Reprise), leading right into the grand finale. Or right before All You Need Is Love. I don't think it'd work anywhere other than being the penultimate (or semi-penultimate) track on either half of the album.

>>75123309
oh well, but at least it keeps each side having an equal amount of songs plus it's not really out of place imo

>>75123470
thank u my man, I just found a version of Get Back/Let It Be I made that used the mixes from LIBN so I may as well post that while I'm at it.

THE BEATLES - GET BACK (1969)

1. Get Back
2. Don’t Let Me Down
3. Dig A Pony
4. Two Of Us
5. The Ballad of John And Yoko
6. I’ve Got A Feeling
7. Let It Be
8. For You Blue
9. The Long And Winding Road
10. I Me Mine
11. Across The Universe
12. Hey Jude

Meant to be released before Abbey Road I think. All songs from “Let It Be… Naked” except Tracks 5 and 12.

Not bad.

It's all too much is so underrated. It's better than Tomorrow Never Knows imho
>>
>>75123456
Hey Bulldog isn't from the pepper sessions lad. Doesn't belong
>>
>>75123603
hm, I guess you could always switch it with You Know My Name (Look Up the Number), right? Since that was recorded in 1967 but left unfinished until 1969. Dunno if it fits though.
>>
>>75123660
I would just subtract it
>>
>>75123593
Yellow Submarine is a 8/10 almost entirely off It's All Too Much and Hey Bulldog.
>>
>>75123593
Yellow Submarine's ending with It's All Too Much playing is absolute fucking kino. Have you heard the 8 minute version? I'd link it but I guess EMI went on a YouTube takedown spree recently since nothing's coming up even though I definitely listened to it on YouTube recently. I have a version from some bootleg labeled as It's All Too Much [Take 2] and it's 8:35, if that helps.
>>
>>75104005
I saw Phish do that in it's entirety.
>>
Buddy Buddy imma need a good mix of the tracks from MMT and Yellow Submarine into a single disc album. thanks and love the Get back album
>>
>>75123921

I basically hate songs that look back and reflect, especially sad songs.

>Hurr Durr. My girlfriend left me. She found another man, and I'm so sad and lonely

For fuck sakes, stop living in the past and move on. And the same sentiment goes for Yesterday, as well as In My Life.
>>
>>75115881
Here, There, and Everywhere is corny, and hokey, but I actually like it, since it was Paul's tribute to Brian Wilson, and I also happen to be a fan of early Beach Boys. Definitely has that In My Room/Surfer Girl vibe going for it, I can see why people wouldn't like that song.
>>
>>75122176
Anybody willing to upload this collection to mega?
>>
>>75129055
Those are usually among the best songs
>>
>>75129055
>hate songs that look back and reflect

So you mean most contemporary art?
>>
>>75129314
I prefer to live in the present and look towards the future, not cry about a past that I can't alter or correct.

As John Lennon siad in his last Playboy interview, I DON'T believe in Yesterday.
>>
>>75129291
Not in my opinion.
