It also only has 4 Amazon reviews, 32 ratings on Discogs, 12k Last.fm listeners... The only decent number is 2,000 ratings on RYM although that is also few for RYM.

It may not be one of the best albums of 2000's (although I would argue that it is), but the most underrated? Definitely.

I will forever be thankful to /mu/ for being the only place where this masterpiece is properly appreciated.

This is a good album, I really like how it goes between aphex twin esque and early 2000s alternative rock sounds. Interesting combination. mu also introduced me to this album

V:D:C is a great but flawed album that gets circlejerked on /mu/ and RYM to death. It's not super popular outside of those two spheres but within them it gets brought up on a daily basis

Meanwhile pic related is like the spiritual successor to Swirlies and I can count on one hand the number of times I've seen someone mention it

This album is incredible IMO. I really think it has what it takes to be fairly popular but perplexingly even the subculture that pays attention to music similar to this didn't really take much notice.

Listening to v:d:c for the first time was a transformative experience for me and I credit it for opening me up to so many of the albums and genres I cherish today. Without it I would still be listening to the same rock derivatives and video game soundtracks I used to, and because of that it will always be my favorite album.
