Nothing. The band wanted production that captured their live sound better and I think they succeeded overall. Obviously I never saw them live at this time but comparing the sound of this album to Murmur and their live recordings from the era it adds up. Murmur is amazing because the production is so straightforward and simple that it sounds genuinely timeless. But honestly this album doesn't sound dated at all either. It's just more punchy and energetic. Also, the music is just as good as what they had on Murmur if not beter IMO.
