Why is there so little variation in Mexican music?
Why does it all sound like that? You know, that.

because the women are hot and why create good art when we could be getting our dick wet at overpriced clubs with mediocre music. same as country music for gueros. also there is other mexican stuff if you really look for it just not nearly as prominent
I think it's mariachi you're thinking of. With any genre, there's usually a formula that most adhere to. Think of rock and roll. When looking at some of the older stuff, you get a near maddening amount of bands doing that same E A chord progression with that little rolling riff. Think of that classic rock and roll riff. That's in countless songs. It's the same with every genre. Same with trap and doing that one semitone up progression, same with dance music and four on the floor kicks. It's just a staple of the genre to have a happy sounding chord progression and some happy celebratory horns.
