Not wrong
tago mago desu
In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
Just let the title resonate in your head, ahhhhh, you know it's true.
>>75083119
that's certainly one of the greatest
>>75083407
This
Tago Mago>Future
>>75083563
MM and FD are both better than Tago
>>75083531
Not even radioheads best
Monster Movie is the superior album just so you know. Tago Mago is commercialistic and exaggerated.
>>75083580
Ege Bamyasi is more developed than Tago Mago too.
MM>FD>EB>TM
Downloading Soundtracks right now, what should I expect?
>>75083642
Switch MM and FD
>>75083580
to expand on this, Tago Mago gets overrated because it's fairly true-to-form funky Can playin some solid but redundant riffs that get saved by Liebezeit's drums, then 2 monstrously long aVaNt GaRdE tracks that make people think the whole album is hyper-experimental by association
>>75083659
Maybe later
>>75083658
soundtracks is somewhere between EB and MM but its one of the more disjointed compilations ive heard so expect good songs with 0 transition
>>75083658
Can if they were ambient
>>75083658
a 3.5/5
>>75083119
>>75083729
Is this really worth a listen?
You rang?
>>75083776
>>75083729
HAHAHAHA wow shit taste
don't even fucking bother
You can stop posting now
>>75083776
absolutely, i was half shitposting half serious with it as a reply, but it's my most played album ever.
>>75083613
>>75083642
>commercialistic
>exaggerated
>more developed
>redundant
Elaborate? Or are you just trying to hide your shit opinions behind buzzwords?
FYI Tago Mago > Ege Bamyasi > Future Days > Monster Movie
>>75083776
i haven't listened to this too. i just can't check if i see what genre it is
>>75083830
Buzz off ad hominem
>>75083874
How is that an ad hominem?
>>75083830
>descriptors i dont agree with are buzzwords
elaborate on why tago mago is the best Can in any way
>>75083907
Elaborate on how it's "exaggerated"
>>75083903
Shut up
>>75083800
>he doesn't like it
Can's overrated as fuck.
Tago Mago's tracks are all either an attempt at groovy krautjams that lack the colorfulness, diversity, and creativity of their peers or some haphazard watered down take on the crazy rhythms of Manfred Schoof's stuff.
Ege Bamyasi and Future Days just dumbs down the kind of stuff Klaus Schulze and Tangerine Dream were doing around that time but with a percussion beat.
Jaki's the only redeemable aspect of the band.
>>75083780
not even to 5 Beatles albums
>>75083874
Where is the ad hominem in that post?
>>75083907
>"descriptors" that are too vague and unsubstantiated to accurately describe the music they are being attached to are buzzwords
Yes.
Tago Mago is their best because it's their most varied, flawless and fully realised album. Ege Bamyasi is too stripped down in comparison and the attempts at experimentation don't work as well, Future Days feels too polished at times and again isn't as ambitious as Tago Mago. Monster Movie is clearly inferior to the entire Damo trilogy and only contrarians pretend otherwise. Mooney was a much weaker singer, the improvisations are less impressive and overall a lot of it just sounds like TVU worship.
To be fair it's hard to give concrete reasons why Tago is better than Ege or Future because all three of them are close to perfect.
>>75083984
Could you make it any more obvious you don't have a fucking clue what you're talking about
>>75084069
Ok, that makes sense. I'm with you on Ege Bamyasi being too basic, it's always just been the Default Can album to me. I personally feel like the polished production of Future Days matches it's sparser instrumentation, and that Mooney's rough, sweaty vocal match the faster paced and more driven Monster Movie.
I don't find Tago Mago effectively varied enough, since without the 2 almost shoehorned ultra-experimental tracks, the album plays nearly as redundantly as Ege Bamyasi.
Just glad to hear something other than "Tago Mago was so revolutionary at the time!!" though desu
I understand why its most likely not the best of all time for most, but as of right now it still hits be just as hard as it did when it came out and I can't really fit that void with anything else.
If I had to pick some others to put at a GOAT rank, I'd say OKC, Astral Weeks, Downward Spiral, Trans-Europe Express, and probably Flood.
>>75084372
boris flood or that one idnie band everyoine likes flood
>>75084484
