Die hard fans hated this album so much, that Cock Sparrer won't even perform any of these songs in concert.

Actually this is my favorite album by them because no album prior to it or after it sounds like it, and they took a chance on playing something different. I know it's no Shock Troops or True Grit, but it's not a bad album, it's just not Oi! or street punk.

Can you imagine being Ringo, going into the studio day after day, the same lyrics on the music sheet, wondering when John was going to get around to putting the the final lyrics in? Like for months, and he's still giggling about how people would be totally confused if they just left them that way and you just keep fake laughing along, but you're starting to wonder if he's actually going to leave them like that. You see Paul starting to come into work everyday and the first thing he does is check the song sheet to see if it still says "egg man" and then stuff it back in his folder and go sit in vocals room smoking and angrily making phone calls for the next 20 minutes. But you're just Ringo, the guy that shows up at 8:30 for the recording session that is supposed to start at 9:30 even though you know no one else will be there until 11:00. Just you and George Martin all morning listening to the tapes from the day before, skipping the arguments (he always jokes that he wishes he could have skipped them the first time), George playing horn samples and asking you what you think about the mixes. Being a stop-catch for George is what you see your real contribution to the band as being - you can only adjust your cymbals so many times. And when Paul finally gets in, and George gets in and he, George Martin and Paul go get lunch you look through George's notes on the mixes and see that he's added about have of your comments, even though most of them were "that's pretty good Martin, always like to hear those drums" and "I liked that third horn, George, the English ones." You go back and sit down at your drums again, getting ready to deal with John and his jokes from yesterday, as he comes in with the morning papers (which he only brings in when he's made them) and lunch drunk George Martin to get back with the rest of the band. The last beatle alive.

Humbug has a dark theme around it the whole way through and it only has ONE bad song.
WPSIATWIN is a classic but you can tell they've matured from then on
SIAS's dream pop songs are sooo good (their best even), but the pre-AM songs (Brick by Brick, Don't Sit Down, etc) are just OK imo but they make it go down on the list
AM's sound is not my style, but there are some really good songs like Fireside and obviously DIWK.
