I agree. The detached, ironic surrealism throughout all of the different types of songs - ballads (4th time around, just like a woman), reflective epics (visions of johanna, memphis blues again, achilles), and the blues (leopard skin pill box hat, 5 believers) - all done in that very thin mercury sound dylan described, until the final release in sad eyed lady of the lowlands where this sheen is dropped and full love and beauty is indulged in for 11 great minutes
