It's not that your taste is bad, it's just limited. Too many indie brits; skinny white boys with guitars making music 2005 - 2010. No black music (soul, jazz, blues, hip hop - and yes, saw mnm and kendrick), no hardcore, no metal, nothing experimental, no prog rock, no female singer songwriters. It's like you got your big brothers collection from his college years, or maybe that's what you listened to at college.

You need to get out of your comfort zone and listen to more genres. Push yourself.
