This is Brian Eno's best album.

I treat that entire solo Eno art rock run as his best work with no one album I'd point to as "best"

>here come the warm jets is better
Warm Jets is great but it has such a first album feel. It's clearly "the weird guy from Roxy Music trying to channel his weirdness as best as he can" and it comes out like a pretty typical glam rock album with some bizarre flourishes and tons of Fripp guitar solos. Tiger Mountain is a real statement by a fully formed artist.
Tiger Mountain > Green World > Warm Jets
All great though.
bonus points for not saying Another Green World.

op here, these are my thoughts exactly. Where would you rank Before and After Science in all this?
>>75034003
this
thanks also OP, love this album to pieces and I've never understood why Warm Jets and Green World get so much more acclaim

I used to have before and after science as my favorite, but this one is definitely my pick these days. It's just such a fun listen

Baby's On Fire>Tiger Mountain>everything else
>>75034045
not gonna lie I kinda agree with you, Baby's on Fire is far and away the best song on Warm Jets. Tiger Mountain is a better overall album tho, it has four songs very, very close to being that good in Burning Airlines Give You So Much More, The Fat Lady of Limbourg, Mother Whale Eyeless, and Third Uncle. and the other 6 songs are way better than the weaker songs on Warm Jets

Tiger Mountain > Green World = Science > Warm Jets
The issue with Before and After Science is it seems a bit too fragmented. I think I enjoy Tiger Mountain the most because it's the most cohesive album, which makes sense because he made it with one group of musicians. Science probably has the most collaborators and you can tell.
Tiger Mountain and Green World have consistency while Science and Warm Jets have individual high highs.
NOW WE CHECKED OUT THIS DUCK QUACK
>Here Come the Warm Jets
>Taking Tiger Mountain (By Strategy)
>Another Green World
>Before and After Science
What shoud l listen to other than these if I'm not super interested in ambient music? Collabs are fine.

Heroes
That live performance of Eno, Nico, Kevin Ayers, and John Cale
>>75035189
>Wrong Way Up (with John Cale)
>Everything That Happens Will Happen Today (with David Byrne)
>High Life (with Karl Hyde)
Also The Ship is highly underrated. Far more of a post-rock album than an ambient one.
