Mike Oldfield and specifically Tubular Bells is the quintessential dadprogrock. Arguably ELO is worse, or emerson lake and palmer, every time I hear of tubular bell's 'genius' I cringe. It is basically every prog rock album ever, all the shit and good and cringe rolled into one package.

Ommadawn is much better and is the only good oldfield album, and by good I mean 'doesn't sound like every other generic as fuck prog record that gets 3.8+ on RYM or gets lauded by reddit'
