The problem is people need to worry about money too much so need to appeal to the people who buy music, crackers and niggers. So only these extremes of Country and Trap will sell. Subtlety is what makes music good not Beats(tm) or cousin banging lyrics.

Also schools dumping band from their cirriculum means only the most passionate kids will ever learn an instrument but ironically its the kids who think music is for queers but are forced to discover they enjoy guitar that make the best music sometimes.

Every kid should be forced to at least attempt music, its great for their brains and could cause some untapped geniuses.

RYM is not a good way to observe this trend, you have to take into consideration when RYM first started, the majority age group of people that rate albums on there, the way in which people compare and rate albums, how many people rated each of the albums on that list and if there is a trend to find within that and so on and so on.
