Although they are shit, dinosaur Jr. has Barlow tracks
The contributions from other musicians in megadeth albums are actually significant, especially in rust in peace which has so many solos.
Guided by voices has multiple songwriters, one guy does most of it but it's pretty major.
King Crimson is certainly more than just fripp. Like mustaine, he is the most important and only consistent member but his band mates have a major impact on the sound of each album, especially considering he doesn't do lead vocals
>>75012551
Yeah, agreed
King Crimson and Megadeth were sort of weird examples because they revolve around one constant member, but that member isn't the sole songwriter and serves more of a "bandleader" function than a "one-man band" function
With Dinosaur Jr. I was mostly thinking of their 90s albums, on which Mascis played nearly every instrument himself

Surprised nobody has said MBV. Didn't Kevin Shields do pretty much everything for the last album? At least Bilinda had some lyric credits on Loveless.

He's listed as the only songwriter for everything on Isn't Anything except for one song co-written by the drummer. Bilinda has only ever written lyrics. The OP is asking for """essentially""" one person bands I'm pretty sure this counts.
