What's your favorite concept album, anon?
This is mine btw
twin fantasy
the old me would have rushed to exclaim "ooh the unfinished Smile Sessions or perhaps Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band!" but the new me says i don't know how to define concept album so i dont have one and probably wouldn't organically respond to this question. but that smug little prick in the hat is bugging me.

whats not to love about a space opera set 1000 years into the future where corporate masters have taken over the universe, and the only way to save the day is through the slick rhymes of a vigilante rouge

This as well as
Atmosphere: When Life Gives You Lemons for a loose concept, Kendrick Lamar's Section 80 also as a loose concept and the cliche Pink Floyd Dark Side/The Wall for hard concepts. Hospice was damn good too.
Lupe Fiasco's the Cool is also really well done save for some ass songs.
Diamond Dogs.

Kevin Coyne/Dagmar Krause - Babble

Good album, is a break up album really a concept album though?

Dennehy by Serengeti
Family & Friends by Serengeti

Dennehy is a better album, but F&F is more solid in terms of concept

Looked it up, do you mean the thing where it's about Will and a fractured sense of identity rather than a relationship? If you do, well, that's pretty cool, but I'm still not sure it makes it a concept album. I interpret pretty much all of Jandek's lyrics that way, for instance, but that doesn't make his albums concept albums. I think it's actually fairly common for lyrics not to be about a /specific/ relationship (like this song is definitely about a breakup between romantic partners), but about the general tendencies of relationships- a lot of songs intentionally could be about different types of intra or inter personal relationships. It's not really a concept imo, just good songwriting
keep in mind: a concept album is only an album that is unified by a central theme, it doesn't have to be an album with some sort of vague story progression

Wouldn't this be most albums?

the king of limbs :)

I like it because it mocks the melodrama and self-seriousness of rock operas.

zappa mocks absolutely everything including himself. it's just 'zappa does a rock opera'
I also like their other concept album where the concept is every song is about food.
