Listening her talk about her songwriting process and writing, makes pretty clear that she really enjoys doing it and thinks like an artist. Her focus on her career is a good indicator too, she doesn't get distracted with anything else and acts whatever character is necessary to sell her ideas.

A marketing tool like Britney or Cristina, or Katy would eventually break down from the pressure and let their character slip. Taytay just uses it to make more music.
