More or less. I find Fantano to be really predictable when it comes to stuff. I more or less don't listen to his score as a "this is an 8 I need to listen to this."

Instead I look at his score and compare it to what he likes. I've picked up some albums he's given relatively poor scores (5-7) and still really enjoyed because people have different opinions.

That's one such song of many. And she attended college courses for fun in high school and scored a 2300 on her SATs so "No she's just dumb" is not an acceptable rebuttal.

I'm convinced it's due to school systems fucking over our sense of scoring. When the only acceptable scores are 75/100 or higher, it really fucks up any sense of scoring for a person in the future. If something is 8 or above, it's great. Anything less than a 7 is dogshit, and a 7, depending on the person, is either "okay" or "average"

Let alone classical, he's incredibly hit and miss with standard rock and art pop.

I think he's a valid critic in certain things (mainly aggresive music like post-hardcore or noise), but sorely limited in others. In particular, he has a very skewed idea of what melancholy or sad music should sound like. He just gets bored and calls it bland or forced.

That doesn't mean no one should ever listen to him, but he definitely should not be the only YT critic with a sizeable audience.
