I'm OP, but there's nothing inherently wrong with ego, and frankly it's a very egotistic thing to believe there is.

Ego is literally your UI when you engage with the world, everybody has one and that's okay, but ego death in moderation can offer a ton of benefits for people into shit like spirituality and self-development. It's a breaking down and building back up process.

Not that guy, but I remember being aimless and depressed and obsessed with existentialism and drugs when I was younger. Now I have a clearer understanding of myself, values, and agency. Ego death is fun and all, but it definitely fits into the first category, and I'm proud to have made it to the second. I'm still down to take some psychedelics and dissociatives at times, but I think it's valuable to have some heavy respect and attachment to some objectification of the world and yourself too
