Who is your favorite guitar player and why? Michael Schenker because he has an uncanny knack for amazing note selection and unparalleled tone and vibrato. His playing is really tight and concise, every note has a purpose, even on his faster playing. The man pretty much invented the neo classical style of electric guitar, yet is severely underrated.
Sammy Duet because of his riff writing and tone, never heard such appealing guitar sounds in my life.
I like Paul Gilbert because he seems like a really nice guy

I saw goatwhore open for celtic frost on their monotheist tour several years ago
I always cream over Django whenever I hear him but I don't think I could call him my favorite
I'm a big geek over Fred Frith just because of everything he did to push the guitar past what we thought it could do prior
Tashi Dorji is a really fascinating contemporary guitarist I think any avant-garde fans need to know

how was it?

I was there to see Celtic Frost,so i honestly dont remember. No bad memories spring to mind, so they couldnt have been too bad. This was 2006.
Tony Rice at the moment.
He pushed bluegrass guitar to its limit, musically and technically. For starters, he has chops that rival most shredders, but uses it to push jazz arpeggiation and outside lines into his playing that's tasteful and brilliant. Plus his tone is about as perfect as it gets for an acoustic flat picker.
