Definitely good, but somewhat overrated. There were many great vocalists like him, he's just much more popular for some reason

One of the few remaining links in musical mainstream pop culture to traditional pop.

As a singer he was good at what he did, made some excellent albums, but his enduring success was from his public image and presence outside of music, on TV and movies.

He made himself the iconic, definitive classic gentleman with the fedora and cigarette, which still endures, maybe more than his music even.

Anyone else get really depressed listening to this song?

I don't have suicidal thoughts but when this comes up on Spotify I imagine it's song someone would use for their suicide. It's just an unsettlingly sad song in general.
