Well, Camel - Moonmadness is fucking beautiful and it's from 1976 also Jordaan Mason and The Horse Museum album from 2009 is awesome, I can't think of anything else tho so maybe you're right

Assuming this isn't bait: I don't think the problem is necessarily those two albums, they're both really good and would probably be in the top 5 or top 10 of any year they could've been released in. I think it's moreso that there's virtually no competition whatsoever. I mean, like someone else said in this thread, if the only rebuttal to Bowie being AOTY for 1976 is a fucking bleep-boop album about gardening, that's not good.
