talentless hack-core and poseurcore essential
literally just average oldies copy and pasted (stolen) with filters added over them

you can write something short and dismissive about any great piece of art btw

Leyland picked up a shit-ton of pre-WW2 jazz records in like 2010. a study came out that said people with Alzheimer's or dementia can remember specific events better if there was music associated with the event and they listened to that music again. the music is supposed to be what it sounds like in the memory of a person whose brain is literally dying. the album cover has a match in a grey blob. the blob represents the memory of the afflicted and the match represents a potential spark of memory. i'm pretty sure most of his earlier works as The Caretaker we just based on The Shining, so this was his most conceptual work yet.
that being said, i don't really think of it as "music", more like "sound art". in the same boat as like The Disintegration Tapes
virtually everything the caretaker/leyland kirby/V/Vm/test records has released has been plunderphonic of some variety or another, except the acid house shit

It's simple, he shills himself here so more people will buy his shitty album.
