Let's get this scene more popular, atm it's pretty obscure and there aren't enough albums in the genre.
here's a bunch of new post nightcore albums:

>>74938620
>Let's get this scene more popular
how about we don't?
>>74941823
get out of here you pretentious objectivist. sorry for trying to aid an artistic movement.
>>74941864
>artistic movement
>>74938620
Shouldn't that say "everything that's come out in 2017"?
>>74941897
if you don't like it, it automatically becomes high art
>>74941897
you're spooked with all your irrational standards for art. you're anti-fun and anti-art.
thanks for bumping the thread though.
>>74941897
well its a style of music. which is an art form. That has a small movement. Just because you dont like something doesnt mean it doesnt exist
>>74941704
which one are you?
>>74942180
guess
>>74942207
my guesses are either plasticneesound, anomalo, or trans fat
>>74942266
good job
>>74942207
it's gotta be plasticneesound
>>74942288
you FUNK
>>74941923

it's time

>>74942813

>>74942725

>>74942891
>>74942914
they let me put up two albums
i have to go now
bye
>>74942964
new EP is great, bye bye
Favorite 水 here, the newest album will be out either the end of this year or the beginning of the next. I want some new comers doing their thing first
>>74943361
Also, this is a pretty good pn track
https://soundcloud.com/hormonal-hermione/out-inside-post-ni-ni-nightcore
Does post-nightcore have a definition yet?
>>74943920
in what sense?
>>74943437
i fuck with this
>>74943928
Is there anything that defines post-nightcore beyond reverse vaporwave?
Do we have subgenres yet?
>>74941704
well if it's not high effort it has to be plastic
>>74944010
well post-nightcore basically exists to poke fun at nightcore roots while also making worth while conceptual plunderphonics. It speeds up, chops up, and brings other styles along with it. Reverse Vaporwave is a good way to describe it but it goes a bit deeper then that.
Also no subgenres exist, if they did they would probably be subgenres of nightcore itsself instead of being a subgenre of post-nightcore. But artists have made albums that sound very different from one another.
>>74944121
>reverse vaporwave
Shouldn't be something entirely different from that. Everyone is tired of vaporwave by now and the last thing anyone wants is another subgenre.
>>74945012
it's like uber for music
>>74944010
i'd say it's just sample based music (plunderphonics) where some of the samples have been sped up, and/ or pitched up
not much has been defined about this genre desu, which leaves a lot of room for growth.
>>74945012
yeah noone uses the term reverse vaporwave to describe it anyway. its a subgenre of plunderphonics though, not vaporwave. Same as genres like oceangrunge, metrosong, deep internet, ect.
Using reverse vaporwave does nothing but give you an incredibly vague idea on the concept
It takes me a long ass time to find samples so it might be another few months before i release anything else. What are yall workin on?
>>74945637
currently attempting to find perfect samples
>>74945724
Well that makes two of us, good luck.
what do y'all think of the music tapes?
wow as i typed this, sped up version of OTC comes on... coincidence? i think not
>>74945859
the music tapes are great
>tfw saw OTC a few months before Doss died
shit wrecked me, dude was so nice ;_;
>>74945637
Debating on which of my previous sounds to expand upon and put actual time and effort into.
Leaning towards UCP99
>>74945637
hey, neocafe here. i've got many samples in mind haha, i'm gonna be sampling some obscure denpa music on the next album, but i think it won't be out for a month or so.
somebody here please make an album that matches up scene for scene with Okja (ala the wall / wizard of oz)
that is my only request
>>74946765
explain it in more detail haha, i'm struggling to figure out what you're asking
>>74946798
if you play dark side of the moon by pink floyd at the same time as you watch wizard of oz then they match up it's like an alternate soundtrack for the movie
wait is it just me or is it really obvious that OP is samefagging?
>>74946846
got damn, that's really weird. cool af.
>>74946898
im not op and im in here shitposting about okja
guys, is it possible to into postnightcore if you have only seen one episode of attack the titans?
>>74946898
i'm not, there's just a few of us who want the thread to be a success.
>>74946927
hell yea it is. it's jus speedy plunderphonics b.
>>74946846
whoa
>>74946911
>>74946967
guys you have to have heard of this before..
pretty sure it doesnt even really work
>>74946898
ive posted in this thread a few times am i a same fag?
>>74946983
ill give it a test drive
>>74946983
It works perfectly if you synch it correctly
>>74946927
FUCK attack on titans
>>74947038
ok so yeah please someone do that for okja (a triumph of post-anime globalist cinema)
>>74947056
attack on titans is trash desu
as someone who doesnt even know from nightcore let alone post-it i'm about to bring this thread back on track: if you're reading this please recommend a gr8-A postnightcore track
hard-tip: that isn't in this thread already
>>74947247
just kidding im going to kill the thread instead
>>74947247
this is one of my fav pn artsits
https://boyfriendheart.bandcamp.com/album/a-new-kind-of-love
>>74947354
thanks i bet everyone else is watching okja
>>74947351
n-no
>>74946927
you should watch serial experiments lain. it fits the mood p well
>>74947247
this one is one of my favorites https://plasticneesound.bandcamp.com/album/--7
>>74945195
Isn't vapowave a form of plunderphonics, though?
>>74947247
just listen to the mix that posted earlier. That has some of the best tracks.
Heres a decent track:
https://toshino-san.bandcamp.com/track/noir
I never cared that much about Vaporwave or Nightcore, but still, I checked out some of the music here out of curiosity and I have to say WITH YOU by 歳納さん is the best I've heard so far.
If Post-Nightcore/Nightcore Revival gains further traction, hopefully it doesn't fall into the trap of solely experimenting with production techniques and straying from more eclectic sampling. Vaporwave seemed to suffer from that. Artists would veer into a more so Future Funk sound, or incorporate Hip-Hop/Trap, or go down the Ambient route, but not many would toy with sampling forms of music outside of that. Also, it'd be neat if there was more of a maximalist bent. Listening to a song I know simply x semitones higher for a couple minutes isn't all that exciting, to say the least. It'd be great to hear multiple samples interwoven together. Regardless, it's kind of interesting in a way and there's potential in Nightcore to be taken a little more seriously, I guess.
>>74947418
usually yea
>>74947375
damn last time i was recommended lain i think it was in an AIM profile and thanks for the recommendation pretty ballin
>>74947418
Yes, but not every style of plunderphonics is a style of vaporwave. Vaporwave has its own subgenres.
i think im starting to get it
another good movie: six string samurai
I just want anime glitchcore with the original pitch, is that too much to ask?
>>74947667
yeah
>>74947667
why not make some?
>>74947784
I need inspiration.
HONEST QUESTION
Should I delete Sickening Display? I really dont like how the album turned out. In fact i kind of hate it.
>>74947931
I quite liked sickening display but that's completely up to you man, I deleted most of NOIR last night cause a lot of it just didn't turn out that good. just gotta do what you feel sometimes.
>>74947998
yeah, i think im going to delete it and resurface it another day if pn ever blows up. I just know that i can do way better. Keep it a pure cd release for the time being. For the 6 who own it
>>74948059
Aw, I was actually really enjoying that. It was far more interesting compared to the rest of the material posted here so far.
>>74938714
>>74938743
>>74947439
Any recommendations for more artists like 歳納さん? Just listened through some of the recommendations posted here, but only really gotten into 歳納さん based on first impression at least
>>74948229
my boy Favorite 水 made this album with him

Why isn't post-nightcore called daycore?
>>74948226
It will be back again some day. I promise
>>74948421
daycore already exists
>>74948421
>>74948451
how about wee-hours core
as in the wee hours of the morning
i live next door to a chinese-speaking family and i just listened to the mom breaking up a fight between the two brothers while an ice cream truck drove past, is this what it's like to go to a post nightcore show?

damn, how tf did i forget that?
This stuff seems really interesting, I'd like to make some. How do I even go about getting started though?
>>74949941
im also curious about people's production methods
>>74949941
>>74949963
just play around with samples in your DAW of choice. time flexing, speeding up, pitch shifting. adding various pluggins to the tracks... idk man just be creative.
>>74949963
1. open fl studio
2. add sample
3. cut and paste parts of it
4. add filters and effects
5. speed up
6. export
>>74949963
personally i just drop songs into ableton and chop up parts i want to use. sometimes i leave entire sections untouched and sometimes i chop it into 1/16 notes and arrange it all crazy. another thing i do a lot is mess with the eq a bunch so it sounds like its being played off an out of tune radio, also i tend to saturate lower frequencies cause you lose a lot when you speed it up.
Is there an archive of all the albums in case some get lost?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-JzH4uLb_k
>>74941897
>posting blaire
This didnt catch on last year and wont this year
>>74949941
open audacity (free to download)
File > Import Audio > select a song you want to nightcore-ify
select the imported audio track
Effect > change speed (speed up by 10-20%, experiment and see what works best)
Effect > change pitch (raise pitch by a few semitones, again experiment)
File > Export > save as mp3 or flac
MC BOING
I will listen to one full nightcore revival album, just tell me what to listen to. Don't pick anything that's longer than an hour because I won't listen.
>>74951686
https://arashi-bu.bandcamp.com/album/core-oh-what-a-nightcore
>>74951703
Cheers. The first 30 seconds were surprisingly enjoyable.
>>74951703
Just finished listening to it, here's some thoughts:
It wasn't terrible. It's a similar idea to JAPSHITFUN's album "Lolicore ruined my life" from 2009 but with (imo) worse execution. The distinction between this and the noisier side of lolicore (Japshitfun, Neko girl's litter box the list could go on and on) seems just to be an emphasis on the imitation/parody of nightcore visuals.
I think the earlier tracks had more effort put into the chopping and screwing, whereas the later tracks seem to be more standard nightcore.
If you haven't heard "Lolicore ruined my life" you should check it out. I'd be interested if you think it's the stylistic progenitor of nightcore revival
