I've been feeling some serious heartache and grief, I can't seem to get rid of the last few months. Too many people and things have died within my life the last year. Now death and the lack of time everyone seems to have is always in my head and on my mind I need some stuff to relate to.
I need some stuff to relate too.
Stuff like this maybe

It's amazing how a band that was trying so hard to be commercial in the 90s accidentally produced all of their best artistic endeavors in the same period.

Eels aren't really a band btw it's pretty much just Mark Oliver Everett (e). I'd reccomend reading his biography it explains allot. He was never trying to be commercial. Everett was just making what he enjoyed. Electro shock blue and Daises of the Galaxy are mostly about his sisters suicide and his moms death in the same year after Beautiful Freak was released.

I understand that but My Beloved Monster wasn't included in Shrek and Eels didn't release a song for Shrek 2 for artistic reasons. Spielberg and company clearly saw this music as lucrative, maybe they even saw Mark Everett as the flagship artist of their music branch. Maybe it was wrong to say that the band itself was trying to be commercial, but the band and the people funding them clearly saw marketability in the 90s that the band never lived up to besides maybe the double album.
