>Partying

As someone who avoids party life, rap music is probably the most powerful party music ever invented. If you love living in the moment, this music is probably for you, but if you're like me who always has to think about something 24/7 and is afraid of losing their train-of-thought, it's not so good.

>Weed promotion rhetoric

I know a lot of people say "weed is great" but I personally believe weed is counterproductive. Smoking weed may make you feel good in the moment, but it doesn't fix problems long-term. I also believe stimuli from drugs is unhealthy because it only covers up the symptoms, not fixing the problem as a whole. A better stimuli would be finding a hobby because 1, hobbies don't have a low effect and 2, they're a natural boost of dopamine.

>The beat and tone

Again, the beat and tone is good for parties and living in the moment, but I also can't enjoy the music because 1, it's too fast for me to process lyrics, 2, too fast of sounds and too many sounds at once triggers uncomfortable sensory. The music just passes through my head without letting me absorb it, and it feels awful to me.

So with all this going against why I like popular rap, are there any raps that aren't like this?

if you really have to ask, it seems that you don't know how to use the internet
which is the case for so many young people these days, what the hell
one would think that digi-natives like you would be masters of finding stuff on the web
when i was your age (14) i was on last.fm, youtube, discogs etc finding new and interesting music according to my interests
do you not know how to do it? what exactly is your problem?

have you tried listening to the song? perhaps then you would know
or perhaps you should read other things than song titles. genre descriptions, similar artists lists, rym reviews, such things
>>
Unironically listen to MF DOOM. Also, that's an ass I want to lick really badly.

this
but since you need your hand held, here is some decidedly un-partyish hip hop

I think you're hearing it how i heard it when i was young. people change. you can't force yourself to enjoy a certain music, even if you listen to the best you have to offer.
it could be that in 5 years rap music really resonates with you and you think it sounds great. or not. and it doesnt meant anything about you or who you are.
i used to love ska. when i was like 12. and rap music just sounded bad and like i couldnt absorb it right. rock music like my dad was into sounded boring and lame to me.
few years later ska and pop punk sounded like high-pitched crap and my dad's CD collection had somehow transformed into sounding amazing.
few years after that it just felt like all those whiney fucks needed to stop complaining and the only thing i want to hear is powerful, inspiring rap music.
skip more years, all lyrics are stupid i only listen to new-age ambient and shamanic chanting.
one eternity later, you know there really is something to jamaican music...
3 seconds later, rap changed and it's interesting again
who knows next year maybe i'll find out why people like country.

I understand where you're coming from with all this but let me give you a counter argument and then ill give you some recs.
>Partying
You said you always have to think about something 24/7, that must be exhausting, like honestly. I mean if you ever wanna you know, chill then a party would be a great way to get things off your mind. That and drinking. But you said you dont like drugs so that brings me to...
>Weed promotion rhetoric
Not all of rap promotes weed, there are some who just don't talk about it. And thats what weed is all about, living in the moment. I can't personally smoke cause military, but anyone who smokes just once a week or twice a month is allowed to relax a while. I think the people who smoke daily are not using the drug correctly. And you're right it is unhealthy.
>The beat and tone
You're right it is a bit jarring the couple of times you hear it, but I got used to it by listening to a lot of death grips.

Recommendations:
Probably already heard death grips but still putting it out there. Don't listen to this first even though im putting it first. It is very jarring. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iPtPo8Sa3NE
Easier to listen to than the other ones.

For the beat and tones try this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R7qhVQK9_-Q
Very easy listening sometimes. Try the whole album Eternal Champ.

Very good album definitely check it out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-aB6bfucM04

try Gorrilaz also, imo their best album https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bOf9tm7FSG4

I mean, I don't only think about one thing all the time. One moment I'll be thinking about ideas, then next I'll be thinking about videogames, then I might be thinking about movies, etc.

It would be exhausting if you 'fixated' on something 24/7, but for me at least, I can't accept happiness without having accomplished something or having a reason to be happy.

Stop being a bitch, get taste. Hip hop is the most interesting and progressive genre this world has to offer
>>
>>74922906
I like to take a break, thats why I listen to a lot of music. Partying might just not be for you, I was just giving counter arguments to give you my side. Anyway those recs are good try them out. Again don't try the first one first, save that for a later date.

Yo dude, hes trying, hes asking people for recs like god damn.
