it's a good album but a tad overrated imo. this was their big crossover indietronica sorta record but I don't think they stuck the landing quite as perfectly as say, Animal Collective did with MPP or Sufjan did with Age of Adz. still a pretty great album, but my favorite Deerhunter albums will always be the more hazy, noisy, psychedelic ones like Weird Era Cont and Cryptograms.

they tried to be mac demarco/tame impala/mgmt without realizing that they can make infinitely more interesting music and shouldn't have to resort to stooping to that level. it almost felt like pandering, honestly.
