Do you blame them? So many great indie artists out there. Too many to list.

It's the simplest form of popular music as it offers nothing from a technical, cerebral, visceral, nor atmospheric perspective. Some people find its surface aesthetic quite chic, and considering its roots it also attracts a lot of the pretentious audience which then proceeds to shit on everything non-indie that actually has musical depth. Easily worse than even Crunkcore as a musical genre.

any other post is just corporate shilling trying to make you believe you need to spend $500,000+ on an album for it to be good, that creativity is directly tied to money or "technical prowess", and that music needs the industry's seal of approval/conform to genre rules to be considered true music. indie fans are actually the most musically redpilled

honestly its hard to define "Indie" now

So much music is just thrown into the "indie" or "alt" rock category.

You can look at a band like Mumford and Sons and think, Wow I fucking hate these guys

But than there is a band which uses a guitar that is completely different from them, and they will be considered in the same category as them.

Rilo Kiley is the best indie band.
