but rap is not music. it's talking. that's what it says. "rap" means talking in meter. It has rhythm. It's not music. It's OK. there's nothing wrong with it, it's just not music. People who are great at rap aren't great musicians, they're just great at rap. there's no road from rapping into music. Music is something you can get better and better at, I don't think you can do that with Rap. I don't know if rap has that kind of space to it which leads off to an infinite number of possibilities. music does.

You definitely get better at rap with practice. However, rapping will not make you a good musician. A background in English will help you way more than a background in music theory in rapping. You can go off into all sorts of literature and poetry after from rap though.

I don't think this is bait, so I'll post a serious reply.
Why don't you think that rhythm isn't an integral part of music, music would be really boring without it.
Would you say a drummer isn't a musician?
Please don't be shitposting.

Not even a big rap fan, but being a decent rapper does require some level of musicality, rhythm, tone and showmanship, and that's just when it comes to flow and presentation, lyrics are a totally different sphere that you have to pay attention to, production too.
Now, can you make a low-effort rap that will get you easy money and have the internet talking? Sure, it's a pretty simple formula, most of rap is bullshit anyway, it's probably the most self-destructive genre and fanbase, but it's not really something that has any real significance in the long run.
