Ride The Lightning is superior in every way, and one of the greatest metal albums ever recorded. Master Of Puppets is pretty good too, but not nearly as good.

Master of Puppets better Ride the Lightning cooler

Ride the Lightning has a more fun vibe to it, whereas Master of Puppets takes itself a bit more seriously and in my opinion suffers for it.

They're both good but Master of Puppets edges it out just a bit, has some truly great songs

Ride the Lightning. It's more interesting and more raw. Master of Puppets gives glimmers of the hard rock trash Metallica to come. Reign in Blood is the superior thrash album anyway.

I used to think MoP was better but a lot of its songs could be so much shorter, the track on RtL are much more refined and their lengths feel much more justified
