I fucking love Spiritualized but i feel no love for spacemen 3 except for a few songs.

My favorite album is probably Ladies & Gentlemen, favorite songs are from different albums (their albums are often pretty flawed :'( ) : Goodnight Goodnight is a pearl, So Long You Pretty Think is crazy, 200 bars rules...

200 bars is such a jam!! I really like spacemen 3 shame you dont dig em. Perfect prescription is very very solid. And yeah LAG is a masterpiece but as good as it is sometimes it feels a bit over indulgent or disingenous. No big deal but S3 and Spiritualizeds early work feels a lot more modest and personal which adds to the cozy warm druggy atmosphere

The good spiritualized albums are probably peak lush indie-self pitying drug music. I once took a shitload of acid, too much, and listened to the first one and Pure Phase. By the time Shine a Light really hit me, for the first time I understood the expression 'fried on acid'. That horn spiral up then guitars turned into energy fields ripping me apart going anti-clockwise then out of the top of my head. (about the only thing I can clearly remember that I could express). I was screaming like a fucking banshee by the end of it.
